I thougt about a minute about selling the bike as i read this bad news.. but - why?

The core parts like the engine, gearbox, brakes etc are still to get - the frame could be a problem when i crash the bike - but in fact it doesn't matters.

There are a lot of custom frames to get and so i can rebuild a new bike with the parts (i this should ever happend - it's worst case)

so why should i sell a pefect high neck shopper?

No - i'll keep it on the road...

Ordered A PDM a few months ago! Just got around to installing it yesterday because I have been sick and recovering from surgery! My 2006 K9 has factory air ride with the compressor mounted at the bottom of the battery box! Exactly were the main brain for the PDM is supposed to mounted! There was no mention of if the bike had air ride or not when I ordered it and it was not asked in the ordering instructions! I guess they never sold any PDM's to people with air ride! NOW I find out today that BDM is out of business! Wonderful !!! Can't get help with mounting and I guess NO WARRANTY!!!

Why don't you start a new thread with this info and you probably will get some help quicker. Not trying to be a smartass, but just trying to help. As far as a warranty, I don't think there is much hope for it. Glad to hear your surgery went well and you are on the mend:2thumbs: Get a chance, post some pics of your install, might help with getting a fix.

It certainly sucks that this has happened. I have been working on motorcycles for a very long time, and I enjoy working on the BDM's the most. When they were going strong back in 05 06, they had a great family out there in Wichita. Seemed like everyone I talked to and met during training classes were very nice and loved what they were doing. When I spent time with H-D, I never got that same vibe. With H-D, it felt like people were just working their "Job". With BDM, I felt like everyone had a true love and passion for what they were doing. I for one would love to see the company come back some day. Maybe some investors will buy it up? Wish Victory had bought into BDM rather than Indian.
But, on a positive note, myself and many others on this site are here to help with technical support. Weather it be over messaging, phone, or actually in person, we will do our best to help for many years to come. As long as Baker drive and S&S stay in business, we will be ok. A lot of the other parts can be replaced with something else.
On another note, I'm seriously considering doing a mobile service center. In the process of getting a trailer now. If I can get enough work lined up in your state, I'll be there
:up:Love the mobile idea........make it happen, lots of Dogs out there.

Could someone end up buying out the parts company? Assuming if it was running in the black and at least making a modest profit, the parts company could still end up doing business in the future. It sounds like the parts company was just part of the group of entities that were part of the banks foreclosure.

Did anyone capture the catalogue of the exploded views of our bikes from their website before it shut down?

supplying parts does not apply if you go out of business. it just applies to a manufacturer who discontinues a model. GM must supply Oldsmobile parts, but GM in still in business

Nope...I hear you, I had to replace my starter, replaced the wiring harness...and after still having electrical issues; I finally replaced the wiring harness with a thunderheart 4250, replaced the handle bars and controls (Harley products) and it has been running great ever since.

If you can't wrench, then the BDM is not for you. Had a guy ask about buying my Bulldog. In 2 minutes I figured he couldn't wrench and said, "this is not the bike for you---ever."

Sorry, just about any recreational vehicle...either fix it yourself or pay to have it done.

Most bike shops (you pick the brand) see their bikes as toys, not transportation.

Get used to it. That is the reality of motorcycles.

UPDATE:

Got in touch with Bob Lockwood. He tells me that the bank does now own BDM, but he says that there are a few people looking at it. Hopefully they will be back up and running soon.

Yes, that's what I was saying....that I know of a few who are looking into it and hope to do so. Sorry, if I didn't make that clear.
