More sad BDM news

Energy One

Looking forward to retirement
Talked to the guy selling it off for the bank. I was very interested in a lot of the stuff, but he is selling it in LARGE chunks! Like 1.1 million for this part and 500K for that part! I told him to call Derrick and Donna, he said he already had and they were coming in the next day to do a walk through. The guy I spoke to who is selling it for the bank is the same guy who is building Bigdogs in Europe. But BDM performance is History. Hopefully one day it will rise from the ashes like a Phinex

Seems like a conflict of interest there! :rolleyes:

It would not be good for the remaining Big Dog parts to get shipped over to Europe!!! :down:

Come on bigdogpartsking!!! :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

And there lies the problem...parts. No one will be making more. Once they are gone, they are gone. All existing will be bought up and sold to the highest bidder. You need a proprietary part three years from now, you will be scratching your ass. I plan to keep my bike maintained the best I can and hope for the best. I sold my K9 and then bought it back because it is the most comfortable and best running bike I ever owned. I will keep it until it no longer runs or I'm too old to ride it. I just pray it doesn't break down on me.

They manufactured a lot of BigDogs over the last few years, now that BDM is officially dead it creates opportunities for other venders to fill the void, some already are and are members here. I'm not worried about parts for the near future. Parts may get more expensive due to manufacturing costs, but look on the bright side, we already have several solutions to the EHC, the rest are all solvable issues.

Well said Stephen...it's not a show stopper..

I was just told today from another mc dealer that someone from BD is in the works of re-opening a BDM parts store and possibly bikes again! Hope it goes thru!

Well some of us are still putting together things to keep us all on the road.
It ain't easy but I love the BDs and I will likely spend the rest of my life riding one and making parts for them.
BOOK MARKED!
Will be shopping for Primary Gasket kit soon.
