Great...I'll give that a try. What would you think about using a bit of Axle grease on the end of the grip? There's no opening so it wouldn't drip out.

If you’re near the coast the salt is in the air. No storm needed. The humidity and salt air will corrode and rust any unprotected surfaces in a short time. Unfortunately the storage unit probably won’t offer much protection. Best of luck
I think you're right. I should probably wash it more often whether it needs it or not. The storage room I rented is actually inside of a building and also climate controlled. That should help.

Ok...I'll try it. I still can't understand why BIG DOG decided to go with a larger size handlebar, and then not offer different styles to choose from. It really doesn't make good business sense. All it accomplishes is to prevent us from using all the aftermarket products offered to Harley and others.

It’s an ongoing problem with parts and accessories overall. No one makes the stuff for our bikes anymore. There used to be plenty but it’s a small market compared to Harley and everyone is making Harley stuff.

I hate to have to mention this but being about 5 miles from the ocean on a short canal just off the St Lucie river for 12 years the only way you are going to get away from the salt is to head back to Kentucky. The dog will need constant care, think weekly or sooner if you ride in the evenings.
That is just my experience in Florida, wet salt air all the time if your close to the coast.

Good progress today. I went outside this morning and checked my brakes again after bleeding them yesterday. When I pushed the pedal in on my back brakes the Forward Control piston stuck in the Forward position. I used a compressor to blow it back in place. Bread the brakes again and waited...same thing happened twice. I was somehow getting Air back into the system. I remembered how tight the Caliper Bolts were when I took them apart. When I rebuilt the Caliper I tightened the Bolts while holding the Caliper in my hand. So, since it was mounted now I tried tightening more. I got a half turn on each. Blead them again and I believe the problem is solved. Also, installed the oil Cooler. I'll get the Stash Tube done tomorrow. Yesterday I got the kickstand, license Plate, and front Rocker box installed. I also put my old jets into the carb in preparation for installing the V&H until I figure out my options for an exhaust. So, waiting on my fenders from paint shop, and my seat. I'll probably move it to storage on Sunday. Once there I'll remove my primary and send it to Space Coast along with a few other items. I ordered a new support bracket for the V&H, I want to have the bracket chromed in case I end up installing another set.

You can be sure I'm going to wash often. Like I said, I can't do this again !

Remember a little company named Hewlet Packard? HP for short. They tried the propriotory computer crap just before they tanked. Need parts? Gotta buy from them. I guess Sheldon was a fan?

To me it just seems a stupid move. I mean, these are awesome bikes from the start, but you have to know that everyone has their own style and preferences. Donna was telling me that if they want to sell a new product then they have to commit to a certain number (run). She said it can easily require an investment of 30k-40k. So, at least they do a good job stocking the essential items.

Question: Since there's only a small amount of oil that remains in the crankcase, can I change out the cam Cover without draining the oil? I hate to drain it if I don't have to because I just put it in when I installed the oil tank.

It's called Proprietary and means I designed it, have rights to it, and you want it you will have to buy it from me. Works for some not for others.

I’d be concerned it would displace. I used teflon tap because it provided the thickness to absorb the play and not rattle but not be so hard it would bind. Can also vary the number of wraps to perfect it.
