Silicone worked great. Getting things polished up...long process. Primary is at Space Coast along with a few more items. Wait time is around 6 weeks. Surely my fenders and battery box covers will be painted by then. While waiting I'll complete everything else. A 54" front Brake Line came with the 3" Extended Handlebar Kit. It seems a little tight so I ordered a 56". I also ordered the front fork cable straps so that should take care of any slack. So, 6 weeks will put me around end of February. If everything goes well I should be able to send the whole bike to the paint shop then to take care of the frame touch-up. After that a final clean & polish then off to the Ceramic Coating Shop!

Well I've made a little (very little) progress. Received the new V&H exhaust a few days ago. Space Coast called today and they're sending my Primary Inner/Outer and a few more items. I had a tiny leak after rebuilding my rear brake caliper and it would Bleed down every three days or so. Decided that I would just get new ones for the front and back. I've got the rear all set, working on the front today. Replaced the factory pads with Lyndall. Really like those, hardly any brake dust at all. Still waiting on my fenders and battery box covers from my paint guy...I'll give him a call this afternoon. I've got very little left to do until then. I plan to keep the old V&H on while the whole bike goes in for frame touch ups and replacing the primary. While the bike is in the paint shop I'm going to have the new V&H ceramic coated. Later, when it's out of the paint shop I'll replace the Cam Cover (scratched), put the new V&H on, and then install the Air Ride components & Wire it up. Final polish and then off to the Ceramic Coating Shop! Can't wait.

The Italian guy working on my seat & Backrest Pads just send me the Design Drawings for final approval. I thought it looked pretty good and I believe he'll do a great job. It's all military designs, 7th Air Calvary & 82nd Airborne.

Had a visit the other day...Snuffy stopped by on his way home from Florida to see the bike and pick up a few items. Great guy, really enjoyed meeting him and especially sharing my project with him. Pictures seem to never be as good as the real thing.

I'll keep you guys posted...really hoping to finish this by May.

I've been thinking about doing something a little different...haven't seen it before but I'm sure someone else has. I believe it was Mickmorris that recommended the Brass Kit for the carb. I really liked the look...made everything really pop against the chrome. So, I have 6 Spike Caps, 2 on top of the Forks, 2 on the bottom of the Forks, and 2 on the top of the Oil Cooler/Stash Tube. I'm thinking about having a machine shop do these in solid brass. Solid brass will polish up and look just like polished gold. I think it would add a nice contrast to all of the chrome. Not sure I'll do it but I'd really appreciate any/all input from you guys.

I say do whatever you want to it’s your choice and as long as you like it that’s all that matters. I like the carb idea tho. Either way it’s the best looking BigDog I have ever seen.

Starter/alternator repair shop. If such places exist anymore? We had a crazy Russian that was a couple doors down from the OG Bigdog factory, he had everything. Drove by a while back n he was gone. Not sure if Derrick/Donna (HDM) would have any? Let us know if ya find some.

I was thinking this is probably the same part used on many starters and terminal covers. I have one on my mower that looks alot like this.

I located a guy on ebay who sells electrical system parts for bikes, including BIG DOG starters and parts. He's going to contact the factory where he sources the starters and find out if they will sell him the parts. I told him I'd take a box of 25-50 if that's how they're sold. The reason is that Curtis' supplier for this part went out of business, sure he could use some as well as others on the Forum. We'll see what happens. I found many on Amazon that looked close but not exactly the same. I want it to fit snugly, especially around the Positive terminal.

Chrome package back from Spacecoast. Really nice job...extremely satisfied. Ebay guy was not able to source the rubber boot. The company said they were already attached when they receive them. So...waiting on my paint guy for final assembly. I still have a shot at completion, including the seat by end of April-May???
