Ehc rip install

They should be if you used starter button. Not on slam. Slam is emergency only. You have no protection in place.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking. Your new kit should be set up for compression releases. They should be wired into the starting circuit and activate when you push the starter button

I had to leave for work I’m already 2 hours late bc I was kinda stuck on this thing, but I’ll tell you this, I had it hooked up in my fb and just had it running and starting yesterday and it had a good charge, no problems starting. I’m sure the dog had a lot more compression than my 80 cube Harley tho

S&S 107? I assume.....yes, needs a lot of juice. Battery must be fully charged!

Stay away from slam button if ya can man. We have no circuit protection. When current passes through a conductor such as a coil (solenoid) it produces a back EMF and it will fly up & fry your circuit.

I'm working too, we will get back to it later Boss

*update*
Tightened up the 3 ring terminals that I’m not sure what they are and that that little red thing in the battery box is but I tightened everything up and we’re cranking now. One of them must’ve been the compression releases, thank you guys, now I need to try to button everything else up, put conduit on the wires for the new harness underneath the bike, see if I can remember how tf to put the gas tank back on, change out my new hand controls, and figure out my speedometer situation… the connector almost melted so would it be a good idea to just splice the 3 wires and solder with heat shrink connectors? Also I’m gonna do an oil change, and tune up, any advice on what oil I should use and what type primary oil and how much? What is the recommended spark plugs? Anything else I should do while it’s in the air?

My digital display on Speedo will not light up, the exterior indicator lights work (oil light etc,) but not the blue numbers. When I put a test light on the gauge itself it works, so ik the gauge is good… black red and green wire connector, the green wire is reading 7.2 v, but the red wire is reading 0…. Can anyone help me on how I can track this down or which wire on the module side I could just tap into and run up the backbone and splice into the connector without replacing the harness? Praying this is the only damage

Voltage is 12.7 and when I try to start it drops to 9.7
I would keep the battery on a charger. After the tank is back on check the voltage again. Before / during starting / then after it's running. Should be. 12.7 / not below 10 / 13 - 14

Yea I ordered a brand new one, but now I’m just trying to figure out how to run a new hot wire for my Speedo to bypass the one I melted without replacing whole harness, and how to torque the mainshaft nut down with it up in the air, and lastly what fluids and how much I need for primary and oil

It’s cranking good, I just wanna make sure everything is EXACTLY tightened to spec and put together as it should be to prevent anymore issues that I cannot afford. My ignorance and impatience has cost me over 2k already, and if wasn’t for you guys I wouldn’t be sitting here right now with my bike actually turning over and all that weight off my shoulders, so THANK YOU, especially you savage, ik it’s probably been frustrating dealing with someone who literally knows nothing about these things, but I understand mechanics pretty well and I can usually listen and troubleshoot fairly easy if I have someone to give me a little guidance, I’m just terrible with electrical lol… so thank you guys again! I don’t even care if I get my speedometer working, I’ll be happy just to be back on the road and enjoy the rest of the summer on my dog!

So I started putting this thing back together after I finally found a clutch carrier, (2005 bulldog) and was trying to install the new rip harness but I am struggling a little bit trying to find which post is the positive and which is negative on starter, and what wires go to what post? I have 3 large gauge starter wires I believe 1 is ground to battery, and the other 2 are bat positive and generator pos. Also any other tips or advice for putting this new harness in or having schematics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
If I were you I would call Big Dog tech support and work that out. Lots of good people here in this forum, but in the end it's your bike, your money, get it right the first time. Big Dog is helping us older Dog owners very well.
