Is the fuel cap on the right side a dummy or does it open. I remember the guy I got it from said it was a dummy.
Any one know for sure?

... both caps are open to the tank, doesn't matter which one you use. However, the left tank is a reverse thread, so looking at both of them (as you see here) they open 'in' and tighten 'out' ...

I've tried doing both ways and it ain't coming un done. The left side.
I flushed the left tank

Found this on the inside. What's the Sturgis stand for? Is that the style of the tank?

Right side cap is normal thread, just like removing the lid from a jar. The left side cap is reverse thread , If ya only fill one side, it takes quite a while for the gas to flow through the equalizer hose to the other side, and ya only get about a half tanks worth of fuel. If that cap is that tight, you might try using a rubber glove to get a grip on it to turn it . Looks exactly like the tanks and dash as my 02 Pitbull

It's just spinning is really tight but definitely spinning going to have to drill couple hours and undo it that way. Don't really like those caps hard to get hold of.

Here is my tank..... I took off the Landmark paint savers.. and put on these flush mounts. Sometimes can be an issue opening.... but hey, I like the look.

Yeah I like the flush look. Allot like the air craft type.
I'm going to get that cap off just need to drill couple holes and manually unscrew the cap out. Then flush the tank again.

I can't believe that fuel line collapsed like that. It is very possible that the right tank was barely able to feed the left side.
Makes sense now I guess.
I still have a feeling I'm dealing with multiple issues.
We will find out more tomorrow.
Thanks again Brothers

Matt, you're bike is getting close to 20 years old buddy! It needs some maintenance just like you're dump trucks do. Keep going. Personally I would send that carb to John Sachs and let him rebuild it. Then you know it is good to go.

GM, Your so right ,as it stands now I need to replace some fuel line and get this baby running, I'd like to think the carby is ok super responsive and did not give me a lick of trouble so far.
Just was not getting constant fuel apparently.

I ain't saying anything anymore cause you just never know with these beasts.
Could be this could be that. ??
Dam I love it

The whole reason I bought this Chopper was so I can work on it cause I can't touch my 2016, Road Glide Ultra Screaming Eagle CVO

Very ironic lol you better be careful what you wish for. Na brother I'm happier then a pig in shight right now.

I do thank you for the name, John Sachs
If I need to go there I definitely will.
Every man's gotta know his limitations.

Well I'm off to get some fuel line and some other parts also some fresh fuel, will jump back into this both feet first later today.
Y'all be good

Nope that's what we wanted to see.

That's the original Cam sensor it shuld run up to a aluminum rectangle box with the sword on it.

It's not often that system has issues.

Did you end up checking spark with the tester yet?

Excellent, yeah I ran the spark plug testers and both lit up.

One thing I noticed not sure if it has any significance that aluminum box you mentioned has a red light on it.
From what I remember it use to light up when id turn the ignition on, recently it does not come on?? Which is it light on good? Light off good? When ignition is on.

That's what happened to my 2000 Vintage with the same setup after 15 years. Two years ago I bypassed the ignition module with an in-the-cone S&S/Crane Hi-4N cam sensor ignition. It works great. The Thunderheart control module is a collection of electronic relays that will continue to work and control your lights, speedo, start button, blinkers, etc. I did not do the bypass myself but it was a very straightforward arrangement. Currently, I have a thread in the Vintage forum section waiting for resolution as I am having issues with the control module for the first time ever and have had to layoff for a few days to earn a living. Hoping to resolve that thread with a report that I found some silly thing and am up and running again. Maybe yet this week.

That box with the red light should blink when starting an illuminate steady when running.

Does it blink when the starter engages? I assume it does since you got spark. And you checked both, yes?

Your issue seems to be fuel related.

Keep it simple. Ya only need 3 things for a motor
1)comression
2)spark
3)fuel

Looks like 1 & 2 are covered.

I have no red LED light when ignition is on

I did a while ago I do remember it coming on I'm thinking when I changed out the coil is when it stopped.
I wondering if I should put back the original coil??

I put the original coil back on and no spark at all. Putting new blue streak coil back on.
