So, I had so much fun at the track last time I went that I decided to go again last night just to mess around. I was very impressed at my 12.1 ET @ 108.4 mph which was quite an improvement over the last time. I raced a HD 103" police special who only did a 15.5 ET @ 83.4 mph. Now this guy was pushing 300lbs and was shoving hot dogs down his mouth two at a time. Everyone was impressed that these bikes could perform so well bone stock.

I will be going out Wednesday night to the local drag strip and track here in Clarksville TN. Only a 1/8th mile run but fun just the same. We have a bike rally there Friday the 18th, Sat 19th and Sun the 20th. I hope to see what it does against all the Harley's and Victories that come. Should be a good time. Use to be at the fairgrounds with dirt drags but this year they are building a marina at the fairgrounds so the Toy Run had to move...

TRUE COLORS COLLISION
sorry to rain on this parade but what is so impressive about a 12 second motorcycle run????in the 70s off the showroom floor muscle cars were runnin 13s,my 93 Z28 actually runs the same as the bike on this time slip and it is a below average street car with a stroker motor in it ...is it kool that most people think nothing of the performance while lookin at all that polished aluminum and fat tire and long front end...it surely is.....but honestly after spending quite some time at the neighborhood dragstrip 12 seconds for a bike is nothing to brag about.....

I've been to the track plenty of times. Living here in Houston we have the big track in Baytown and we have a small one just South of me in Angleton.
Everytime I've went to the track I just pull up and get off and the crowds start to surround my bike. When I pull up to the gate to buy a ticket they tell me how fine it is. On the way there I usually have at least two groups of women that pull up to the red light and scream that they want to do me. I don't put it on the track.
I sit in the bleachers and watch and believe me...I've seen plenty people put there bike on the track that do not belong there. The ones i like the best are the big front end harleys that when the clutch is popped fly straight up into the air. What goes up...must come down. Believe me it happens.
A fast dawg huh??? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
SS makes a fine motor....always have. The problem that we have with our dogs is they are production models. They are tuned down in order to satisfy strict pollution standards. If we were to take a 117 inch crate motor and build a bike we could build one that would blow a stock dog out of the water.
I don't see anything wrong with wanting to get on the track and see what you can do. Don't let it go to your head though because our bikes are not made to be as fast as they could be if they were to have a descent ignition system, cam etc.

Despite some criticism from other members for wanting to take the bike to the strip, I had an amazing time. I saw some awesome cars and bikes, met some cool people, got to legally push my bike to its limits and most importantly had a lot of fun.

This video was my second of six runs, I was still learning and pegged the rev limiter which hurt my ET

Best ET 12.521 @ 103.22 mph for ¼ mile. I am car #1 on the slip, colum on the right. I was racing a Busa with a turbo @ 6 pounds of boost. It was both of our first times at the track.

This is a stock S&S 117", I cannot wait to see what the xxx carb, .650 cam and whimer intake will do next year.
Rev hits = loss of warranty.....:loony:

Like I said before, I went to the track to see what this bike would do before and after modifications. I do not plan on making a career of racing my Big Dog, shit… I believe that before adding cams, intake, carbs, etc. that it is a good idea to get the bike on a dino and the track to see what the base line is. Dino numbers are just that, numbers. How many of us have stated it is how the bike feels that matters. I want to push the bike to its limits but not on just a stationary machine that tells me a set of numbers, even though a dino can be a useful tool.
As far as the warranty, mine is up so who gives a crap. Who ever heard of a 4000 rpm yellow line anyway?

What is require at 42 besides a helmet to race?
A helmet and some type of jacket is all that is required. I wear chaps because it gets a little nippy out when the sun goes down of course. Gate opens at 5:30 and racing starts at 6:00. Last friday it was busy, a 100 cars and a dozen bikes. Only got a couple of runs in, tuesdays seem to be better. See you there.
