Kim be sure to install that sleeve in the metal housing and then slip the pump outlet in the sleeve.Well, the mystery was solved last night. This little seal was it:View attachment 39803
Here is the drawing of where it is and what it is supposed to look like:

And here the rebuild assembly is ready for installation. I will be testing later on today...

Are the baffles removable? Can you order a pair of thundermonster baffles to replace the stock ones?I know it's off subject but are either of you doing anything with the stock exhaust? Mine sounds like a Honda
Gross
Haha..its actually not that bad after second look. Thanks Eric.
This was obviously pretty bad but it did fine for 186 miles, phantom that.... I got it in correctly and the bike fired right up and put like a kitten... Love it. Now off to mount the sissy bar, luggage rack, spark plug wires, and move the footboards forward..Holy Smokes, Viking!! I rebuilt mine and when I installed it, I just folded an edge of the hose and the thing wouldn't hold any fuel pressure, and sprayed like a skunk. So I then put the hose in the receiver first and then lubed the nozzle of the pump and slid it home. That did it.
Your hose is really blown out--who would think that 60 ft. lbs. of fuel pressure could do that. Must have soaked in ethanol or something that attacked that rubber.
When I got my Bagger, the fuel pump growled when it powered up--after rebuild, it hums like it should. Can't tell from the pic, but did you replace the thermistor? I did not and my low fuel light does not seem to be working.
Does that mean you joined the club and bought one?I know it's off subject but are either of you doing anything with the stock exhaust? Mine sounds like a Honda

On my K-9 I have the stock mufflers but did this to them, looks bone stock and is louder than anything out there.... Looks like this and is easy to do:

Then welded it back up without the baffles:

Looks like this, and doesn't have one iota of sound dampening in it:

On my bagger I will keep it stock. The bagger is for longer trips and will be built for comfort and reliability rather than the K-9 that is pure fun and a helluva lot of power....
That's a lot of miles.... LOL... JK. Congratulations, that is awesome...View attachment 39811 View attachment 39812

When ya get the exhaust loud enough, are ya gonna be like one of those faggers, I mean baggers with the radio screming at a red light, shakin your booty.
Yes it does, but it's not very high up on my list of priorities for this one

I pulled the trigger on this 2010 BDM Bulldog bagger with 55 miles on it. Never been registered and came with the title signed by BDM back in the day. I bought it from Cycle City in NY and dealt with Theo, he is nothing but outstanding to deal with and the process was super slick.
I got the bike home and it sat for a couple of weeks due to me working. I then checked all fluids, battery, and pressures and took it for a spin. Worked great. So we decided to take it for a trip and went around the bay with it on Wednesday night. Everything worked great, after I worked on the radio for a few hours. The following week end I replaced the battery just to be on the safe side. After replacing the battery the bike started up and ran like normal until we got a mile from the house, then it started sputtering and wouldn't idle at all. Rode home and parked it and jumped on the old K-9 just to realize what bike had gotten the tender lately. So we took the Hummer to lunch. I've studied up on the EFI but can't for the life of me figure what has gone wrong. The needle on the speedometer never worked either, but the digital portion of it works just fine. Today I landed a sissy bar, a new touring seat, and extensions for my forward footboards so I am super happy about it. Just a few wrinkles to iron out and I'll be the proud owner of what, in my humble opinion, is the coolest touring bike on the planet.
Now if you have any good suggestions about the EFI or the speedo, please feel free to sh
