Need some help with clutch

Hello

i got a 2005 ridgeback with an 117 S&S sidewinder including a balancedrive

when i,m really hanging at the throttle the clutch slips a bit.. and i can feel at a stop that the clutch is still engaged a tiny bit..
resulting difficult neutral etc etc..

i adjusted it already several times but no luck..the clutch is probably worn..no big deal..

but i live in holland and the shops here don,t have those parts on the shelf..or the knowhow wat parts i need to replace the lot..
so my question is:

Can somebody make me a shoppinglist for the needed parts like: primary seals oil which clutchpack etc. and best place to order.

i would be gratefull already thanx

What's the milage on the bike

Milage is 12435
not so much i suppose but still the symptoms are there..better safe than sorry

Thanx. But i already checked that after reading the forum..it was tight as a......

Changed the fluid for mineral primary oil. Just to be shure..

Best bet is to take the clutch out and measure the stack. There's lots of threads in this, 1.97" - 1.98", if I recall right is optimal.

Take a look at the frictions and they might be fine so you may just need to grab a thicker steel to get back into spec.

I have a 12 disc set up with a heavy duty carrier plus all of the parts and tips on how to change everything out. I also have a full primary set up. I went with a 3” belt drive to accommodate the new 140” motor I installed. I’m looking to clear out all of the spare parts I will not need. My email is rlaing07@yahoo.com

Yeah, usually the not will come all the way off and you lose everything except the bill for toeing. Happened to me. Red loctight on that reverse threaded nut @ 150 ft.lbs tq. Will do the trick.

i,ve ordered an complete kit from bandit including carrier so i,m going that way.
it,s coming in in a couple of weeks i hope..


tomorrow the dakota digital speedometer is arriving at my door so that,s about 15 min of fun time to install.

Wallet reaching ideas. Say the cash is stretched. You toss the warp's the burnt, measure the rest against the book, salvage the 'within spec' used parts, and replace what is out of spec. As if to use two steels to regain pack stack height. Weza be in the cheap seats.

Next idea is to buy all new frictions and steels, the fatter the pack the longer it takes to breakout of spec, better known as slip, ankle broken chasing N, insurance up to date creeping up to the plastic bumper in front of you kind of spec sheet.

In other words don't cheap out.

You already ordered a bandit, but, are you sure the plates were installed correctly? I take so many of them apart and they are NOT assembled correctly and cause slippage.....if you need something else, give us a shout at wildsteedworx.com or message me and I will try to help....

i did not open te primary up. i,m in holland and don,t have gaskets lying on the shelf.
so did not want to open it, wait two or three weeks for a gasket.

my thought was and is i,m going to open it when all the needed replacement parts are here and do it the right way.

i have no history on this bike since i just bought it. the HD-dealer said he had done a major maintenance on it..but the tracks are not there. luckily i,m a certified bike technician with my own workspace.
the previous owner used sillicone gasket on the primary so they knew there was something off but did not tell..and many more small things..

i,m going to order at wildsteedworx everything that i need except the bandit clutchkit (complete including carrier.) no el cheapo way..i,m doing it right or not doing it at all.

ps installed the dakota digital yesterday i finally got a speedo again, but no fun to install took me about 4 minutes.;)

When you do take the primary apart, verify both mating surfaces are FLAT. I bought a new outer cover and it always leaked. Flat filed the mating surface and it was high by .020 in spots! Once both surfaces were flat, perfect seal, no leak. Quality Control can miss things too. ;)
