Ok let's just say if want to put a new ignition in this Chopper and wiring harness what would be the one that would work best for this bike ?
Tomorrow I'm going to spray all contacts with CRC contact cleaner cause tonight I'VE gone to steps backwards.
I changed out the coil and changed it back and now no frickin spark again even on the new coil.. in chasing a ghost.

What are your suggestions on a new ignition and harness the whole shabang.

I have a spare ignition..... I can send it to you... if it works, then you know what you need. PM me and we can set it up.

Go back to Big Dog Ricks post and look at the crane ignition.

I have no red LED light when ignition is on

I did a while ago I do remember it coming on I'm thinking when I changed out the coil is when it stopped.
I wondering if I should put back the original coil??

Okay...well you had the light. So you should be able to get it back.

Just curious what are those ground wires going to under the ignition box?

Grab your trusty multi meter and unhook the power to your ignition box and see if you have +12v when the handlebar is in the RUN position. Put the meter on the red hot wire coming in and the dedicated black ground wire. Lets see what you got there.

Honestly, what you have for an ignition setup is extremely reliable. You are welcome to put a new one in but I betcha what you go works. Loose wire or connection somewhere.

Ok what I have is power on both terminals with the ignition is on.

My red light is still not on but I do now have spark

I changed the wires around on the coil and we're get spark on both cylinders

Those wires are a bypass from the key and to a switch.
No key.

Yes my run switch gives power to the two wires on the coil as

Now just before I was messing with the plugs on the back of the ignition and sprayed some contact cleaner on the plugs when I turned on the ignition the red LED light can on briefly and then came on nice and strong then went out. I tried messing with the wires again. Nothing can't make that LED come on again but I do still have spark.

.... as a side note: try using Posi-Loc electrical fasteners.... they can be bought with waterproof, and without.

Yeah copy I checked those connections there soldered and twist capped on.
I used heat shrink they're good now.
Going to put the fuel lines on the reconnect the pet cock and tank ,
put some fresh fuel and kick her in the guts..

No red light but we got spark.

No worries about the red light...if memory serves me right that model will will just come on for second than off. While starting however you should see it blink.

Regardless you have spark now...so ignition box is probably okay..

Just a random suggestion. Try running AN extra ground wire from the ignition box bolt to the battery neg directly. I had an issue with that before as well and a few other folks.

Yea need to clean that up. Anything with electrical tape should get some nice solder and marine shrink wrap

You know I knew singing wasn't right when I first originally took off the cluster cover and seen that module just laying there did not even know it sit nicely in that cradle.
I problem was the plugs going into the module were not correctly seated and that was enough to cause that trouble.
I'm not even going to put that old coil back on the new one runs so it's staying.

Almost got the tank together and also I got the pet cock facing the right way man some people , how much more time really does it take to do it right.

It was totally ass up. Now it's right.
I'm glad you persisted and it finally showed it's ugly head.
I'm stoked.

... agreed; but give Posi-Loc a look. They can be removed and replaced with ease... no cutting, crimping, soldering, etc.,
They are the two blue connections next to the batt.
