I turned the petcock off and removed the gas line and used a rag to catch the gas, I also removed the brass hex on the bottom of the bowl to empty gas from that also. Then remove the screws and slowly lower the bowel. You should be able to read the numbers on the inter and main jet with a mirror. By the way do you by chance have an inline gas filter? Is the gas line one solid piece from the petcock to the carb.?
Will do when I get home. Not sure about the inline gas filter. Will gather that info later tonight after 8.

Btw I appreciate this help you guys are giving me.

no, the "orange" line is the overflow. it started life clear and turns yellow/orange with age and exposure to gas. in Franco's pic, it is the braided hose with the blue fittings. and in the second picture, you will see that he has an inline filter. if you have one, make sure it is a "Pingle" brand. not much else will flow what is needed for the big inch.

Yup, I do have a Pingle now. (I was paranoid the glass one could break!) :D

The overflow (yellowish/orange) thing will not affect you.... I changed it for a blue one because mine was already VERY dry & dirty (Ugly!).

Take a few pics while you have it apart.

What jets do you have in there?

Do not lose a little blue o-ring !!!!! make sure you put that one back correctly!

I tried to post last night but I guess it didn't.
Got everything all cleaned. The main jet looks like it has the number 74 on it, other 2 I couldn't see anything. Made sure I didn't lose that blue o-ring. I pulled the fuel line off, turned petcock on, fuel flowed freely. I blew through the gas line and it took a tiny bit of effort but a lil big of gunk flew out of there. Put everything back together. Gonna start her this morning and see what happens. Started last night and she was idling very rough.

I've read and been told different things as far as starting the bike. Do I twist throttle twice, lift enricher, and start bike till it's warm? Or do I lift enricher, get it started and stay on the throttle and put the enricher down? Sorry for the noob question, I wanna do what's right for the bike.

Here's pics I took:

Sure they do look dirty.... that Inter jet definitely is. look at its discoloration! , you just need to use a screwdriver to take it out and you will see the numbers on its side.

Since you stated "lil big of gunk flew out of there" I would take all jets out and clean them thoroughly (or install new ones!)

BTW, 74 main is stock.... if all is stock the Inter will be 29.5.

If you´ve got an aftermarket exhaust and/or aircleaner you should go up to 31-76, and get rid of the Bowl Vent Plug.

But for the time being... just do a THOROUGH clean up in there. (If I was you, after seeing the state of that Inter jet in your pics, I would install new jets).

My 2 cents.

Will do. Just drove around the block. Same issue.

Just weird cause it dies (sounding like lack of gas) then I have to wait about 10 minutes before it starts again.

Will pull the jets out when I get off work and clean. I have some spray carb cleaner that says on the label it's good for jets and everything. Is that okay to use?

Should I tune the carb first? One issue I've had is that unless the enriched is up, the engine doesn't stay on. Is it okay to leave that up till bike is warm or could that be part of my prob?
