You have 3 things:
1: air. If you are not getting enough air or too much it won't start or run good. Check to see if your air cleaner is plugged or you have an intake leak. There are caps on some carbs so check to see if they are leaking.

2: Gas. Drain and replace with new gas and make sure your filter/petcock isn't blocked and your float is working right and adjusted correctly.

Fire: See if you have a good spark at the plugs by taking one out and holding it against the head. You should have a blue flame coming out.

If all that is correct then you have major problems...

I picked up the Marvel Oil and mixed in the gas yesterday's. Replaced the air filter and pulled the breather tube off that was unnecessarily attached to the backing play and plugged it.

I took a ride yesterday, 2 hours 40 minutes round trip with a 2 hour break in the middle. In the freeway (75mph) didn't have any at noticeable sneezing/coughing. Coming back into town, seemed to occur less.
Went to Walmart about an hour ago, had some more sneezing and a lot more backfiring on when I release the throttle. On the way home from Walmart, bike stalled 3 times, while I was on the throttle. Was turning throttle but seemed as if gas wasn't goin through while I was in the throttle at 40mph. Finally got it home. Need to change oil and replace breather plug with a small empty shot bottle of vodka so it's not plugged up and see if that helps. Also, when it stalled, I thought I saw a lil bit of smoke come from teardrop bit not positive.
So, battery hasn't been charged in a week (don't have à tender yet) but it's on the charger now.

Last.thing, the speedometer stopped working intermittently while on the freeway. Roma have never worked. Whatcha think?

Ok Ok... no panic....

Lets start on the easy stuff.... I would give that Carb a THOROUGH clean up... take the jets out and clean them very well !!!! it seems to me that bike has been sitting long enough to gung up some shite in there with all this old fuel, etc... A GOOD CLEAN It´s what she needs!

Lets´s start there.

Marvel Mystery Oil does its job, but not on only on 1 tank... (It´s good but not Magic) keep running it, at least three tanks (a couple hundred Miles at least!) :2thumbs:

Keep us posted!

Will try gas cap vent in the morning just to see if thats the problem. Will need to clean carb and jets anyways most likely. I suppose i should check the coil too.

Bike is in the same city so not sea level issues. But im 540ft above sea level.

Also, crazy amounts of popping on decel.

I have no idea how to check what jets im running.
I did notice that the gas cap is very tight without even screwing it in.

1. popping on decel- lean Not necessarily, sometimes it can be due to unburned gas going into the exhaust pipes and/or leaks.

2. to check jets remove bottom of carb Yup! no other way to find out but physically checking them out.

I see I did already send you these files....

No, you don´t need to take the Carb out... just drop the bowl (4 screws)

Tried pulling gas cap off. Still same issue with the throttle.

pulled cover and backing plate.

pics. not gonna have enough time to finish this morning, have to work in 30 minutes.
When I turn throttle, gas sprays in here no problem.

Random question but I think this hose might have been kinked a lil bit. Could that have caused the stalling out? (see below)

Work till 6:30 then will try to get the bowl off.
Note: when removing 4th screw (the long one), gas started coming from the bottom.

I turned the petcock off and removed the gas line and used a rag to catch the gas, I also removed the brass hex on the bottom of the bowl to empty gas from that also. Then remove the screws and slowly lower the bowel. You should be able to read the numbers on the inter and main jet with a mirror. By the way do you by chance have an inline gas filter? Is the gas line one solid piece from the petcock to the carb.?
