R&B Racing 2-1 pipe

Went ahead and purchased a R&B Racing 2-1 pipe to install on my 07 Bulldog to compliment the build and wide-band EFI system.
Thanks to Black Dawg for bringing this pipe to my attention a while back...:2thumbs: Your scoot looks awesome on there site as well. How can you NOT love this pipe on the dog...
Added in the comment box to add two O2 bungs for the wide-band.... I am looking forward to exhaust upgrade for sure....Asked for the pipe in chrome.
Do they add the billet flanges automatically or do you have to tell them you want them?
What are your thoughts on the heat shields? Are they really needed or something to add down the road?

They come with a set of billet gaskets not flanges and a set of aircraft nuts. Do yourself a favor and order a extra set of the billet gaskets and a set of the exhaust nuts. Can't comment on the heat shields as I went with the 124 prostock pipe in silver ceramic.

Barhopper is correct....
The pipe is $625 for chrome plated. Add another $150 for heat shields and 9.99 for a extra set of gaskets.
Went ahead and got the shields due to the fact that they can fit them when they build the pipe. Just saves some hassle in the long run.
They look bad ass for sure.....
The Black and titanium run a little more than the chrome...
Said it would take about a month to finish them up and ship them. I will give a good deal on the Big Radius pipes I have when the 2-1 comes in.

Cool. I still haven't installed my heat shields. I use Blue Job to clean the pipes and it works well. I have about 5k miles on this pipe and love it, you will too. BIG POWER adder!

BD, are you experiencing any burning of your pant legs down by the cam cover/foot peg?
Both of my Stainless Creations don't provide much clearance on the footpeg and I burn up all my pant legs.

Wondering how tight they wrap the pipe around the cam cover on your pipe.

I put my RB 2-1 pipes on about 6 weeks ago. They are actually quieter than the Mean Mothers I had on before.

Mine are also chrome but I had a ceramic coating sprayed inside them locally. This was an effort to stop any bluing. Well they have not started to blue but they get very hot down around the cam cover when running. On the other hand they cool off much quicker than normal, when turned off. Thinking about ordering the shields.

By the way when compairing my dyno torque curves from Mean Mothers vs RB, there is a substantial dip in the MM curve. This is in the 2500-3600 RPM area. The RB totally fixed this and I gain some additional torque accross the board, torque peaks between 3500-3800 RPM. Nothing was gained when compairing top end HP. I suspect this is due to the mild S&S 600 cam that really isn't designed for top end HP. All things considered this is a great pipe and cam for my type of riding.

Really? Quieter then MM pipes? Now your inspiration may be what I need to get them. I already have a ticket for loud pipes with the MM pipes. Did you have to fab a bracket to put them on? Pics?

I never burn or even feel any heat. Well, the worst I've done is my right heel once rubbed against the pipe while riding.

Yeah, these pipes usually don't give any additional peak power compared to some other pipes, but the increase in torque, particularly in the mid range makes the bike MUCH faster. I have a friend that has a TMan 95ci HD and he dynoed at 115hp with V&H exhaust. Before I added my pipe we'd run pretty even (600 cam already installed). He then installed a LSR 2-1 and redynoed and lost 1 hp peak, but gained 23 lb/ft of torque in the mid range (he too had the torque dip). We raced again and he walked me pretty good and his drivability vastly improved. Of course, once I installed my LSR pipe it was a different story as I can walk him now. HP wins the dyno races but a wide Torque powerband wins drag races.

Yes they are quieter than MM pipes but not anything like the stock mufflers. If I was going to try and put a number on it, I'd say they are about 25% quieter. You do have to make your own mounting bracket which wasn't much more than a piece of 1/4" steel plate and a small spacer. I'll try to attach a couple pictures.

There is a lot more clearance compared to both the stock system and the Mean Mother system.

For those people thinking about buying this type of system be prepaired for a long wait as they seem to build them only after receiving an order. Think it took about 3 months to receive mine but was worth the wait.

Called them today to verify the made the slash down like on Black Dawgs bike. They called me Monday to verify to order and said today it is already build and sent out for polishing. When it comes back it will go out for chroming.
Said it was slashed down....
So from Monday to Friday they have made it anyway..

That would be record time for them. I waited 5 months for mine. Something about they don't make too many prostock pipes and the ceramic coated pipes take longer than the chrome ones.
