To be 100% honest, I did not perform a study to compare power before and after the R&B pipes. What I can tell from my own personal experience is that when you wait 12 weeks for an exhaust pipe, and it finally comes, you have a certain expectation, whether realistic or not. I wanted this damn pipe to blow my socks off. I felt let down…. No noticeable gain for me – period. This is a nice looking pipe, good quality, so don’t get me wrong. Different motors with different setups will act differently. Over on a HD forum a guy posted that he lost 3 ftlbs going from a Thunder Header to the R&B 2:1. Others with the same motor may have gained 3 ftlbs, who knows, some maybe gained 10. It is ultimately the owner’s choice, I don’t care one way or the other. I am simply offering my experience; someone can take it or leave it. As long as we are all safe and have fun!

The dyno is a game. Every time I have played I have lost.

My tech showed me how he could dyno my bike other than vary the cylinder head temp and swing 10 hp or 10 torque.

So unless you can make the back to back test very imperial and maintain environmental temps to be perfect even a back to back test has a margin of drift.

I agree 100%. My ass is the best dyno test for my bike. After all, I spent the 12K miles on it before the modification, so I ought to be able to tell if it made a difference.

Toadstool, I received my RB Pro Stock, installed it last evening, dropped off the bike to Gateway Bigdog today, they ran it on the dyno and after going up two jet sizes ended up with 108hp, 128tq. The previous dyno run with the V&H Big Radius exhaust 2 into 2 offered 100hp, 113tq. I had them dyno it exclusively for the sake of knowledge...I wanted to know the hard numbers following a 2:1 install and re-jet. In riding the bike up there today I notice the bike seemed to continue pulling into the R's as compared to the V&H, in addition, the motor does seem to spool up quicker.

An odd effect - and I may be hyper-sensitive to it's behavior now, but the motor feels as though it vibrates more. I questioned Tim on this (before todays dyno pull), he suggested it may require different jets to smooth it out.

Anyhow, end result following the RB pipe and re-jet, 8hp and 15tq gain...hope this helps someone in their decision process regarding RB Racing 2:1 exhaust.
