SICK BOY
I'm gonna have to vote no way on this poll. I know a lot of guys who have the newer BIG DOGS and they can't even run with my 03 from redlight to redlight. Not to mention they spend more time on the lift than on the road. Even the parts guys at my local dealership wont recommend one after 2003 (to his friends of course). Coorrect me if I'm wrong but shouldn't a 117 have more shit than a 107? If you ask my opinion the R&D guys down at BDM said FUCK IT we'll make 'em look cool and put a ridiculously huge rear tire on them (cause its trendy) oh yeah and we'll put a bigger motor in it but we'll completely detune it so all of these R.U.B.'s that will be buying them won't kill themselves when they're riding home in their suit and tie. Let's face it gents would you buy a KIA if it cost the same as a Porsche. I wouldn't.

YES YES YES

I already answered this once but its still a big fat YES I WOULD......

Do i expect to put 50,000 miles on my BDM and not have to pick up a wrench? NO!!!

And if it's broke you should fix it yourself...... Or find you a good personal mechanic.... Or find some good friends at Big Dog Biker
They will be more than happy to teach you and give you a hand...

Just my experience......... :D

Nope

I replied no. After reading a lot of your comments, there is little doubt that the biggest concern is the same as mine. Electrical. When it is working, the bike screams. When it is not, it doesn't run at all.

I have an '05 Mastiff with which a have a real love/hate relationship. It is one of the most beautiful bikes on the road, but it has been riddled with small and stupid problems since day one, and now I am looking at, possibly, another EHC change. It only has 12K on it. I don't ride as much any more because I not having as much fun worrying about shutting down in the middle of nowhere.

Will I ditch the bike? Never! I have seriously contemplated a standard wiring harness and new ignition. Anyone ever done that?

CAN I GET A HELL YA!!!!

Did it Saturday. Picked up my 08" Pitbull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God I love this machine. This would be my 3rd BDM. Rode out to Palm Springs Sunday. Talk about getting attention! The new Easy Pull Clutch Is a diffident upgrade for the earlier models. Fires right up with no enricher ( went with the Carb model) no snap crackle pop, nothing. Even my wife point out differences between this and my 06" Mastiff (traded it in). BDM of OC was Awesome to work with. Can't say enough on how well Mike from sales and the hole crew treated me. Was the first bike sold from this location.
I know the past has been a bit shaky with Bdm. Even though my first was a buy back, They have never left me hanging. I think we at times look at dealers (which don't represent Bdm very well ) and get discouraged. I was fortune enough to make contact with Richard Romero from BD who has done an outstanding job in making me feel at ease.
I did it and will do it again. I know I know......... Post pics. I will when I get home this evening.....if I'm not out riding :)

I'm on my 2nd dog now.....don't know if I'd get another......well, maybe if they'd come up with a 330 or 360 fat tire Pitbull......and throw in a real 124 S&S power plant.......:2thumbs:

Key word would be "REAL". But with a big company like BDM that will never happen. You will spend a couple grand to make their EPA motor into a "REAL" S&S.

No! Reason ,although I love the look of my ridgeback chopper I have had one problem after another since I purchased it,and I mean that seriously I would fix current problem and while I was test riding to make sure it is ok! then bam!! another problem.

I voted "no" – not because I am disgruntled. Quite the opposite. I am actually very happy with my 03 Chopper. I predict we're going to be together for a long time.
