V-Rod Vs. Big Dog

A guy I work with is talking shit constantly how his v-rod will smoke my pitbull. He says it wont even be close. Its an 05 with vance and hines indy outlaw pipes. I havnt raced him or anything but I drag raced a hayabusa for about 5 years so I know my way around a motorcycle. Is it true a v rod will totally kill a dog?? I rode a v rod before I bought my dog and I was not that impressed with it. Im sick of this guy saying how bad ass his v rod is and that at least he doesnt ride a assembly line built pos. Ummmm arent harleys built on an assembly line??? I would ride my dog over a v rod any day. Even if you paid me to get rid of my dog and get a v rod i wouldnt do it. Im not bashing the v rods but there is nothing like riding my big dog!!!!!

I'm more than happy with my big dog. I'm more or less just curious if what he says is true about how good they run compared to the 117 big dog.

Hey, I used to drive a 72 vega, had a worked 350 in it, kicked ass. I also test drove a v-rod, had no where near the torque of my dog. Didn't get the v-rod to red line though, race the asshole 1/8 mile, think you'll smoke him.

It ain't about speed on a bigdog, it's about class.Tell him you didn't buy a friggin race bike japper crapper, and you didn't buy the shittyest bike in the factory lineup either. You bought something with CLASS. Now go tell him to take his hd bobsled looking pos and go screw.

Sounds like he's jealous of your Pitbull. I sat on a V-rod at a Harley show tent and I felt like I was sitting on a hi-chair. BTW that Harley dealer put on the show and I took best custom, 2nd place best paint and BEST IN SHOW. I had so many trophies that day I had to haul them home with the girls in the van.

Let'em talk. Everyone will walk right past his bike to look at yours!

I have been telling him to ride it to work sometime and we will run em but he never does. I ride mine almost every day. Was hoping to put 12000 miles on it this summer but only going to hit about 10,000. He's always sayin his Porsche engine is cutting edge blah blah blah.

Dizzle just took on a Hayabusa twice on his K9, I'm sure it was within a 1/4 mile but what a rush, and the Haya was the instigator, Good job

An airplane is fast but won't draw a crowd like a Dog!!! he's fucking jealous so race him beat him and it'll strip him of anything he thought he might have on you!!

Mine was stretched nine inches with a stroker motor and a healthy shot of nitrous. Best et of 8.57 could have went faster with a wheelie bar but could not bring myself to put it on I hate the looks

I had a V-rod - pipes, intake, tuner = 110hp / 80tq. 1/4 mile in 12 seconds, 115mph, occasional high 11's, top speed of 139. No where near as strong off the line as our Big Dogs. V-rod really comes on about 4500rpms.

The v-rod I had was a 2003 model and would run about 11.5 second quarter. If it is a stock v-rod it'll probably run in the 11to 12 second range ; about a 7 second 1/8 mile. Like others said no comparison to the looks a Big Dog gets.I do have a 79 Malibu that I would be glad to run against a stock v-rod in the eighth mile(5.75 127mph in 660 ft)

I agree with Joker. The damn V-Rod doesn't even sound like a damn Harley anyway. Tell im to pack his wanna be bike where the sun don't shine. Period.

His story today was he raced a big dog k-9 with an s&s 124 and beat him so bad that guy sold his bd and bought a v rod. I just laughed and said Damn he's as big a moron as you.

They are on the time magazine list of the 50 worst cars of all time along with the 1970 amc gremlin, 1976 chevy chevette, and the 1978 amc pacer. right where that v-rod will be while the Dogs are still getting it on.:lol:

I tried to get my local Hd dealer to pull 1 of those v rods out.. aginst my pitbull in front of a big croud... & let em rip down a long straight a way... thay wouldnt do it......... I've heard the same story about them v rods. from my HD dealer... thay always used to talk trash about my dog.....till then.........

He's only talking shit because it's the only comparison left unknown! He knows a Dog looks, sounds, and performs far better than he can ever dream to make his "run of the mill" v-rod look. Sounds like a guy with a lack of personality to me. He's just following in the footsteps of all other Harley riders. Tell him to go suck the balls of the guy who sold him the p.o.s.! He's just jealous.
