top speed

All I know is my 07 Mastiff speedo only goes to 120 and the needle will hit the trip reset button shortly after the shift into 6th and pull for more.

I cannot afford to lose my cdl job, so my speeds have dropped considerably.
Yet, I got other toys to quench the spd need.

Will say though there is nothing beeter than pulling away from some hot dog on a HD with a full load of camp gear on the scoot.

Yes the delight of pulling WAY past 100 while a few Harley riders are TRYING to catch you is priceless "MANY TIMES"....OF course I would not attempt fool hardy stunts like this !

maybe you guys got some well built bikes off the assembly line or something,or are delusional with your everlasting love for these bikes,but at 100 mph my 07 chopper is not stable,it is vibrating like a freaking unbalanced clothes dryer,the handlebars are wobbling,the mirrors cant even be seen,my feet want to come off the pegs and my teeth are chattering and i am feeling for real what it is to be holding on to and for dear life..........it is not a fun feeling ,nor an enjoyable one for me....god bless you all......

Whoopie, that's like comparing go 200mph in a Ferrari vs. a stock car. 180 on a sport bike is safer than 140 on a chopper. I'll never do it again.

You might have some problems with your bike ? with the exception of the mirrors "I'm not looking behind me at that speed so the blurry vision is of no concern" Your feet want to come off the pegs cause your in a 100mph wind Hang on Dam it!!!! ..your teeth are chattering cause ..well if you fall off wearing just a tee shirt you know your about to get fucked up:lol::lol: A shot or two of liquid bravery will take care of most of your problems . My 07 will shake a bit going into turns in the triple digits could be just the nature of the extended front end? Just grab another gear ...you don't really want to spend your golden years in the old folks home with some snot nose wiping your ass do you? :lol:

I had a 72 H2 Kawasaki in the late seventies. Had it to 130 a couple of times. Probably one of the fastest & worst handling bikes back then. At about 120 the handle bars wanted to slap the gas tank. I was about 20 years old then & always had a lot of liquid courage me.

Well had the Buell touching 150 the other day on a nice lonely strech of WV backroad. She had more to provide and really not too much of a problem for me either other than the thought of what happens if Bambi came out!

Next time will plan for a accuratge run against GPS and time to see if the Speedo is just BS or close.

All fun but just cruising along at a smart safe speed taking in the miles, sometimes with the friends is much funnier.

118 and my cheeks were flapping, my helmet was trying to lift off my head and the wind was making my eyes water. But, boy was it fun. I ran 100 mpg for 30 minutes trying to catch up with the other guys running 95 ahead of me.

Haha. Wow you guys are cracking me up. Here's one. I bought my bike a little over a week ago and haven't got out of third gear yet. But I did do 155 on a Honda Hurricane with a girl on the back when I was 18 and invincible.

I don't have a Speedo but I do have a tach and shift light. I usually run out of talent before I do motor or asphalt.:lol::lol:

If your BD feels like it is going to come apart at 100mph then you got serious set up issues. What do I mean by set up issues? I just had a set of Metzlers on my K9. Couldn't get the bike over 110 or so and she would shake really bad. Just put on a new set of Avon Cobras with Dyna Beads, had to add a little more than usual but it solved the minor shake in the front end at 90, took her out and pegged her and she was smooth as glass.
I owned an 03 Chopper and now have a K9 and while I'm not sayin it means shit I have had both bikes pegged and red lined a number of times and they both were/are solid as a rock. Can't tell you what the top speed was because the speedo pegs out at 120. Of course were talkin in a straight line on a nice stretch of road that doesn't have any pot holes. I'm not tryin to compare my street cruiser to an F'n rice rocket and I'm not tryin to say I have big balls. I'm just sayin.
Now I can't wait to get my Dakota on her so I can really see how fast I am actually going

Due to my license being my source of income, I rarely ride above 110 anymore.:bang:

These bikes are built for long distance rides and can easily handle sustained 115 mph trips for lunch across the state.
