Hey Mc,
Yea, it was good talking to you the other day, sorry we missed each other in Little Rock. I will tell you though, I was very lucky! After coming through the Tornado winds my trailer rocked and rolled, and even though I had my bike locked down with 2 straps in front and 2 straps in back all the shaking that went on in my trailer my bike was still upright when I took it out yesterday even though both rear straps had worked loose. Remember though my bike has been back there for about 2500 miles from the time I left Florida the first week of Jan. up to Michigan then back down to here. It was so cold in Mi. that I never even opened the trailer up to check on everything. But other than my bike being soda pop covered (2 cases of soda froze and exploded back there by the bike during the Michigan duration) all was fine. She is all cleaned up and rolling good. So make sure you use a separate strap on each side of the rear and front!

Glad you made it through the storms. Everybody else was running from them and you were driving to them  . Next time you come through maybe we can get together. Great talking to you. Have to meet the man that drives 18 hours through 15 tornado's with a RV and a trailer :2thumbs: . Maybe we should start calling you Smoky and the Bandit. Have a safe trip to Florida. The rest should be a breeze.

cool Mick! now you can bring in some hotties in your trailer and shoot your own movie!:whoop:  with your scoot!:spank:
The only HOTTIE thats been in that trailer is last August when it was a 100 degrees outside and I shut the door and left my wife in there!!:D

Thumper,
Yea, I remember that sweet trailer from when we rode in W. Virginia... That was a great time!
Anyway, my chaulk is centered in my trailer with the front 2 ratchetting straps hooked from a non-scratch covering around each side of the triple tree out about 2 feet attached to the floor (those stayed tight.)
The 2 in the rear with a separate one attached to each side of the frame are the ones that worked loose. I think from all the bouncing! I did look at the D-rings that actually attach through the floor and it looks like the bolts have kind of pulled and twisted. It must have really rocked and rolled back there.....
Hey Thump, Hows the new trailer?
Al

A group buy would have been the preferred way to go, Big House, but I needed these for our trip to Daytona. I will say that dealing with Powertye has been a breeze....Automated email updates...shipping the next day with tracking number...they should arrive today.....I'll post up my initial impressions once I have them in hand.

Just had a chance to open the box late last night.....these appear to be well constructed and more than sufficient for the dog. I'll get a closer inspection tonight and will try to post up a few pics.

I bought the Powertye set last year at Sturgis and have used them several times. I've used many different straps over the past 45 years and these are the best I've ever run accross.

I prolly have 40 tiedowns and still would be interested in a nice set like these for the hound.

Had an incident with a bike in the trlr last year that has me in the trlr today installing multiple tie down points and a wheel chock.

Group buy, like it.
