I have a dyna 2000i ignition on itWhat is the best way to set timing on the 117? I tried to set it using the firing mark and tried using TDC mark. Niether seemed to be right.
You need to get the engine to TDC on the compression stroke.. Then with the key on & run button on you should be able to loosen the ignition and rotate it. When you do the light should come on and off. With the light on rotate it clockwise just until the light goes off. Lock down the ignition. This should be close to 32 degrees firing.I have a dyna 2000i ignition on it
Make sure you are TDC on the compression stroke. If you don’t see the T in the timing hole @ TDC you are on the exhaust stroke. What is the best way to set timing on the 117? I tried to set it using the firing mark and tried using TDC mark. Niether seemed to be right.
Ok i will try that. What curve works best on the 117?Make sure you are TDC on the compression stroke. If you don’t see the T in the timing hole @ TDC you are on the exhaust stroke.
Ok thanks for the info. You would need to dyno the bike to really get that information. 32 degrees seems best at 2500rpm.
. Kinda like a woman.
