So this is the VIN identification for BigDogs up to 2004. As you can see your frame is definitely a ‘03 (last digit in section 3). Not sure about the other #’s that don’t seem to correctly jive with what is listed here….maybe a salvage frame.IMG_0991.jpeg

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your help, I am feeling a little better about it. I don’t want to sell it. I want to fix it. We picked it up because I wanted to take my wife riding , she has cancer and wants to ride with me before it gets worse. The dr. Write terminal on her paper and we don’t want a time limit. So I’m trying everything I can to get it rideable if not for me At least for her. So thank you all for the help it means a lot

All that being said. Your best option would be to tear out all the wiring. Get a new harness, battery, and Ech from WSW. That should fix your bike. I kinda like the fuel injection and the Ech for the fi bikes works well. Sorry to hear about the wife. Best of luck to you and yours. Thoughts and prayers.

I have a guy that wants to buy my sporty, do you have an ideal what it would cost me to have you or knothead to wire it I already have the carb and I will buy the EHC. Would the ECH rip kit be what I need to buy. Would that be the EHC and wiring that I need to buy

I think I did this previously and it was carb setup originally… just didn’t want to look for it again! :oldhardlaugh:

Yes one of y’all looked it up for me before and sent me the info. If I don’t have to mess with the EFI I’m going to leave that alone and do the require of the var was and EHC. That EHC rip kit Wouldn’t that be all I need , don’t it come with the EHC and harness for plug and play

My guess the PO had no clue wtf he had… it’s all good. Totally fixable. And it is a BigDog! Just unsure of what mutated version…still a beautiful bike that I’m sure your wife will love riding on! God Bless Yall! Prayers to lift her up & be healed by the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

No I don’t think you want the rip kit… that’s for’04/‘05 & up. Not the same thing at all that your bike came with. Go with the wire harness and ECM that Mr. Wright mentioned. It will wire right up with your existing Harley controls.
