I have this thundermax ecm on my 04 117 c.in. EFI. My EHC IS ON THE BACK ,at the bottom of the engine. If I bought the rip kit for the EHC , would it connect to the ecm. I’m trying g to figure out what exactly I need get for my bike to run. The EHC RIP KIT will be bought because of the EHC is faulty and don’t want to do this again if I can help it. But the thundermax, that is my ecm right? Should I have to buy another one also, how do I know if it’s bad. I need advice and help. I want it to run but need someone to get me in the right track

Sure am sorry that you are having such a time with this bike. I was looking at your picture of your bike and I am almost positive that is not a’04 model of BigDog Mastiff. Looks like a’03 maybe’02. The ‘04 Mastiff has the kickstand located at mid-bike right behind the primary case. I’m thinking the’03 was the last year for the forward mounted kickstand which is where yours is located. Alot of stuff changed on these bikes between’03 & ‘04. The EHC for a ‘03 model BigDog is totally different from the’04 EHC just so you know in advance. Definitely call Curtis at wildsteedworx or maybe Knothead can help you out with figuring out wtf you got going on. Personally I would pull all that shit off and do a rewire back to stock which I certainly have a feeling it isn’t any longer.

The guy I got it from said it was registered as a 2015 but he said it was a 2011 107 c.i. On a 2004 frame and I didn’t know any better. But with y’all’s help I will get it figured out. I ran the numbers on the engine and it’s a 117 c.i. As for the frame I don’t have a clue, so you are probably right. He thinks he screwed me probably so I will get it fixed and running and show him he’s an ignorant ass. I would never do this to another person. But it’ll pan out. I need to look at the vin and figure out where the date is at in the vin. At least I would know the frames year but the engine came back as an 04 if I’m correct. I’ll look again . But the EHC is mounted at the lower rear part of the engine not in the battery area. But I do appreciate the help

Are you sure this is an EFI bike? I didn’t think they made them until 07.

Regardless, the EFI /VFI is a completely separate module from the ECH.
Yes and it’s not the original engine if it is then he had the EFI INSTALLED I WAS GOING TO CLEAN THE CARBERATOR BUT IT ISNT A CARB. It has plugs going into the what looks like Injectorson the body that I thought was a carb

Did the bike run when you got it? If not , it must have run at one point so troubleshoot and try to figure out if your problem is related to fuel, ignition or compression. The ThunderMax and EHC must have been compatible. What are your symptoms? What do you mean " my EHC is on the back" and why do you think you need to replace it?

The VIN should be physically stamped into the neck on the right side. I have the info at home to breakdown your frame designator. Soon as I finish my Bloody Mary and get rolling north to the house I will find for you.

It’s has great compression can smell gas when I try to start it , like the injectors are working. New crank sensor. And when I cut the switch on it will have fire to the plugs until I hit the start button . Then there is no spark until I let off the starter. Has a starter button on the starter, had a new deka battery but for some reason the battery is completely dead and won’t charge. Has the guard dog keyless security plug and play on it. And my EHC IS MOUNTED AT THE BACK OF THE MOTOR AT THE BOTTOM IN THE CENTER. Is where the EHC MOUNTS.ill get a photo and send it to you with the engine numbers. But it don’t have the carberator on it anymore the numbers on the engine will say it has carb

Whatever you do it’s going to be expensive. That’s why the guy sold it. I would sell it like it is and buy one that works. Just my 2€

"And when I cut the switch on it will have fire to the plugs until I hit the start button" I can't follow what you are saying. From what I can tell you have a slam button and a remote control ignition security system. The battery is not your issue it just needs to be replaced or at least load tested. I would remove the Guard dog keyless and go back to using the stock ignition key set up. It could be taking out your ignition module. Make sure your ignition module is lighting when turn the key on and depress the run button. If it's not lit you have no ignition. If it does light it should blink while cranking the engine.
You seem to have compression and fuel now you need ignition.
I don't think your engine was converted to EFI. That would be a very costly project for anyone to consider.
Does your headlamp come on, blinkers, horn etc. If so it would indicate the EHC is not toast.
Just noticed the loose wire under your starter. Was that going to the starter solenoid originally?
Take a photo of the engine Number off the engine.

That wire is for the horn and I will shit can the guard dawg security. Put a key switch back on and then I will check for the light. That 310 cca battery wasn’t doing to good, I am going to get the banshee 380cca. Oh yea the ass that sold me the bike said he out a 750 cca battery on it and tried starting it, that’s why I was worried about the EHC
