I agree that is f`n nuts , not only expensive but a pain in the ass . I just bought my bike a few months ago and Im already thinking about going with a wire plus harness if I have anymore problems but wouldnt I need the hand controls or would I need to change those over as well as the harness?
Your control boards need to work for wire plus to work.

I did the wp conversion and scooped up a spare left hand control board for $20 to hang onto im going to keep an eye for a right.

If I knew what I know now I would have ripped it all out and went old School. Guy on here just paid 2k for chrome controls and rewire. I think if you did it yourself the biggest expense will be getting a shop to cut and weld in new thinner bars to mount controls. But in the long run it gives you 100's of options down the road.

What I understand the wire plus harness is around 530.. and the sportster keys are another 36 dollars and they said you should be able to use the controls it comes with step by step instructions of which they say takes around 9 hours so if I have anymore wiring problems thats probably whay I will do.

I beleive efi models need another part other than the harness

I just installed my new right hand control and all works well although its different than the original supposedly improved version you have to push pretty firm on the buttons. they should come over and push the buttons for you for the price they charge! lol

Im going to install the button on the starter when I get it for backup
