I just bought a 2006 K9, the guy who owned it had installed air shocks and it did not come with a pressure guage. Apparently the newer ones come with a guage, he went back to Big Dog and they installed the presure guage for free..that's pretty good customer relations
How do you like the airshocks & dose it drop down to the frame when parked ?

I have a 2009 wolf, nice handling bike for being 9 1/2 feet long. I really like the smaller back tire.
I do have some issues with it .....one is the seat SUCKS it's like sitting on a sponge. Rides more than 30 mins and you get numb ass and the fact that the seat is vinyl and not leather come on it's a 35k bike. Had a new one made with more support 1000% better. Had it made at Chopper Zoo by Jen.
And another problem, which I should have listed first is it overheats fast if you get stuck in traffic for more than 5 mins or go on a bike run and it's slow going, you might as well pull over and wait it out. And BDM will do NOTHING about it, there reply was avoid traffic. Yeah like we go out and look for it. This is my second BDM I had a 09 Mastiff that was a major headache.
NO I would not buy another BDM!!!!!

I love my 03 Chop....where BD has gone wrong is when they started building so much in proprietary components in the bikes. I'm able to, with this vintage, change many accessories going my friendly neighborhood HD aftermarket shop....probably what has kept me away from newer models. With that said....I have a great BD dealership in my area that makes all the difference. Quality, reliability have not been an issue simply because it was built with names like S&S and Baker. If I had the ability, I would build one myself, however, it would look and use most the same components.

I love my 04 Ridge!!! Have I had issues ... YES! Some electrical issues and some that were caused by myself. I am actually actively looking for an 08 Ridge to purchase for myself and turn the 04 over to the Old Lady! So my answer is YES!!!!:2thumbs::2thumbs::cheers:

Never going back!

I have many two-wheeled friends over 35 years and can state simply... the bikes hat gave me problems were either neglected or abused. The only consistant problem I ever had was with my Sporty 1200... damn thing kept blowing base gaskets. Finally an educated tech installed the latest, best gaskets.... problem solved and no more oil on my snakeskin boots!

My Mastiff is the shit! It has just 10,000 miles of which I have put 2000 on myself with no issues that didn't result from anything but neglect. Had to replace the seals and rebuild the forks... not too hard and not terribly expensive.... water seeeps into the damn top seal.

As far as ride, comfort and BLING value... Big Dog rules!

Only wish the damn thing had a gas guage!

I ride mine almost everyday,or I did befo re I retired. There is no question that I would buy another BDM. I had both HD and BDM at the same time but my wife said one had to go. I'm looking forward to buying another but I love the one that I have and the customer service is heads and shoulders above HD.

Why not? A guy like you that knows the machine so well would be a valuable asset to BDM.

When a company puts out a product that is less than stellar (in some ways), great customer service is their only alternative if they want to stay in business.

No need to say more. Within 100 miles of where I live there's 3 Big Dog dealers (three because one of them has two stores) and around 20 HD dealerships. :(

That's the Big Dog attitude dude!

However, I do have to disagree with you on most of this. With the exception of EHC failures and the fear of water all the problems you list are also indigenous to Harley's. I can't remember how many HD parts (shifter lever, coil cover, dash bolt, odometer reset knob, seat bolt, sissy bar bolts, etc.) I've left along the highway. That's why long ago I learned to carry Lock-Tite, zip ties, and little extra piece of wire in my tool kit. :D

I think cabin fever has set in Chris. Just wait until that first really nice day when you jump on the Dog and head out. You'll probably be less than a mile from the house and you'll say to yourself, "God damn, I love this fuckin' motorcycle!!!" :2thumbs:

YMMV,

Dennis
I say " Goddam I love this Fuck'n Motorcycle" EVERYDAY!!!
