I've been prowling the forum for a while now and I'm seeking some insight. I'm very seriously considering getting rid of my Vulcan and getting a Mastiff. I wanted to know what your overall opinion is of Big Dog motorcycles, the bikes, their dependability, etc. I've heard conflicting reports of the bikes and the company backing them so I thought I'd try to find out from everyone here. So let me know thumbs up or down, no middle ground here.

thanks.

Sure would, Rad.

Here's a few things to recognize about this forum.

(1) People are going to post about almost every issue they have right here, because this is a great place to get help or share a problem. But that doesn't mean that every Big Dog is plagued with problems. Most aren't. So recognize that this site is biased toward problem solving - and that's a good thing.

(2) There were a coupla years where Big Dog went through some serious quality control issues - probably something like 2005 and into 2006. However, they have worked out most of those issues and the newer bikes are much more reliable. Even in those tough years, the problems could be worked out, especially through forums like this.

(3) and, most notably - as a company, Big Dog is almost fanatical about their customer support. They often cover problems even after the bike is beyond its two-year warranty - but don't be too presumptious about that.

All that said, these are high performance machines, and they can tend to have issues - especially if you really ride 'em hard. But if you get a good model and take care of it, there's nothing else like it. Just watch out for all the attention they generate. :D

I see that the forum search isn’t working, but there is already a poll and thread on this issue. And most people on here said that they would.

Rad032, I've had a Yamaha and 3 Harleys and although I love the look of the Choppers, the ride of the prostreet (i.e. Bulldog, Mastiff) are top notch. I'm dyin to check out the WOLF but it would be hard to part with my BULLDOG. The overall balance of this bike is amazing. I hear the nxt generation BULLDOG is touring. My advise...ditch the Vulcan and get the DOG, you won't be disappointed. Good luck!

Dam.... How did you do that? My search still dont work. Keeps saying no matchs were fond. :bang:

To access the polls on the site all you have to do is type "poll" in the search and you'll get them.

If it's something in particular you're looking for just type in a couple of key words and start sifting.

Air shock presure guage

I just bought a 2006 K9, the guy who owned it had installed air shocks and it did not come with a pressure guage. Apparently the newer ones come with a guage, he went back to Big Dog and they installed the presure guage for free..that's pretty good customer relations
