Rain.....so you got the 1/4 inch ones...are those the hand held felt polishing sticks that you got? for like $6.00
No Dave, you need to get the ones that go onto a dremel. This is what I baughtDia 1/4, Medium, Shank Dia.1/8, Cylinder Bob Belt [7Y1.4mp] - $7.20 : www.feltbobs.com, Just the Felt Bobs and Wheels!

They fit perfectly in between the fins. After polishing the fin with some polish, all you need to do is go over with andother bob. It gets the motor nice and shiny. I think this is the easiest way to detail the motor.

It must be colder up your way there Gas
It's warm by Gas... they only had a wind chill of -12
I am just 70 miles North, and we hit -22

I got a little Dremel kit from Lowe's, but thinking I can buy the ones I use the most in bulk through work and save a couple $'s.

Unfortunately my scoot is in for its final warranty service's and I don't expect her back for a couple of months, so I haven't been able to try them out... :(

I am glad to hear that they will work.

Good timing the bike has been on the lift for months now. I have tried several ways to clean between the fins without great results. I placed an order yesterday. Also all the parts I sent out for chrome are due today. Now all we need is about a 60 degree warm up. After it rains to wash the salt off the street.

I found a new way to polish your motor and the in between the fins. I baught some 1/4 inch felt bobs from ebay for a dremel. It fit's right between the fin and works really well. I haven't finished, but when I do I'll post some pics. You can use larger bobs to do the open areas and the end of the fins.
My bob is much bigger than 1/4 inch. That must be the larger bob you're referring to...And it's made of a rubbery material. Why would I want a felt one? And I've never heard them called fins. I'm going to go back and read the instruction booklet. Does your bob take AA or C's? :spank:
