New battery, new keys, no vroom.

Sorry most of my posts seem to be technical problems. It's not intentional, just wanna get this pup running.

Here's where I'm at (pardon my ignorance, i've only ever owned sportbikes).

Received bike.
Lost key. Got new keys.
Got new battery.

Installed new battery and have all dash lights, headlight, all that good stuff.

Double checked for neautral, Hit RUN button, pulled clutch in (even though not necessary), hit start. (trying to be extremely thorough)

All I got was one single click and that's it. Lights all remain on but bike doesn't turn over or try to start, just one single, lonely click.

I've search the boards and net as much as I could but wanted to check things in the most efficient order possible. From what I've read, I should be checking fuses but not sure where they are located.

Can anyone direct me and on what my first moves should be please?
Any help is appreciated.

Seat off, shot from near gas tank

Closer up of wires under seat

Pointing at box where single click is coming from

Another angle of same box

If matters, there is a Thunderheart box (shiny box in first 2 pics)
And Compufire (near bottom of front forks)
Do these cancel each other out? (do the same thing)

UPDATE:
Top of the box I'm pointing at blinks green one time shortly after click.

That box with the green light is the following according to the #'s on the cable:

Replacement switch control module for WP374 Big Dog retrofit kit

Also, I have all lights, turn signals, horn, etc.

that little tag that says wire plus, if i remember right, you don't press the run button, you go straight to the start button. be worth a try. also, check your battery and see if you have at least 12.8 volts and holding steady.

Will try not hitting run button.

I have checked the battery and it is brand new and holds that no problem. Would it be worth trying to jump it?

Also the heavier thicker Guage cables should be against the battery posts. All the other wires on top of those. Shouldn't be the cause of your problems bit it is best practice. Good luck.

Thanks for that info. Will keep that in mind.

I rearranged cables and tried just hitting RUN and still the same click and light.

no dice

I must have missed when you told us the year of your Bulldog.

Anyway, the resident Wire Plus experts must be partying and my Chopper still has the original wiring, so I know nothing. However, you could start by doing a search and checking out how others have solved their starting problems. This is a start:

Good Luck and Merry Christmas.

Why not? a new battery does not necessarily means its a good battery....

NOW, when you do jump start it, MAKE SURE the other vehicle´s engine is OFF!

Also, did you go back to the beginning point and double checked everything (no wires missing)? It did happen to me once. Now this is assuming the bike was fine b4 you got a new battery & key on it.

re-read post #5, especially the part that says to SKIP the run button and go straight to the start button. see if that works.

Uhhg....sorry to see you have the wire plus. I share your pain.

You do not hit start/run after key on.

FYI... With wire plus the run/start are just toggles, both buttons do the same as do the Hi/Lo buttons.

Definitely confirm you battery voltage. Check it before, during and after you try and start it.

If it's ok, then try to remove the green wire from starter solenoid and jumper 12v to the terminal and see if it will turn over. If so one of your wire plus modules is bad.

If you call wire plus about 150 times you might get through to someone who has a clue and can help.

He did Tom. see post #8.

I am guessing he meant to say Start, not just Run as he wrote?
that is an assumption that does not need to be made. completely different outcome. and if you will notice, i quoted post #8.
in my post #5, i say "it's worth a try". i do not claim to be any kind of electrical guy but i do try to remember things that others have tried. it seems JJ is familiar with the wire plus in the way he talks about it so i will bow to his knowledge.

Is there a general location for that starter solenoid?
I think I might try to take it to the shop tomorrow.

Will try jumping first though. I just don't want to try messing with the electrical stuff.

check for 12 volts plus at large starter wire, and then check at small wires going to solenoid and see what you get, may need to just take back off solenoid and clean up contacts. if you do not have what you should at starter trace backwards.

If I don't hit run or start, how do I start the bike?
