LED headlight

Took my first night ride tonight with the LED headlight I got from Curtis. You can see 100 yards down the road with the high beam on. What a difference from the stock bulb and it's not taking up a lot of amps...

good deal!

WHen you do this swap, I assume you go in from the front? pulling the lense out and then the bulb?

is so how do you get the lense out.. Mine is not strait and would like to do this at the same time as the LED for the next riding season...

also Hi/low Beam.. i assume the light is a 3 poll conection? Hi power/Low power/Ground?

My bike has NO controls for HI/low so would you guys just wire up the bright side or the low beam... Thought about adding a hidden switch under the tank as well.

I would add a switch as I have had to switch to Lo even at night in some cases due to glare from road signs.
This light is a straight H4 plug in to your existing H4 female plug.

ah ok, so in my case I would just have a nice LED low beam unless I changed my wireing.

but the low beam would be better then what i have, and less draw

Thanks to Curtis I now have a led headlight. It was easy to install and it seems so much brighter in the garage. Im hoping to get some good weather this weekend and try it at night.

no insite to taking out the lense?
Ya, drink about a six pack and take a nerve relaxing pill or do a joint. Then try to twist off the outer ring using a rubber pair of gloves. When that doesn't work take a rubber mallet and hit the outer ring until your arm is sore then go back to the rubber glove. :bang:

In a few days when you get the outer ring off you will see a second ring on the inside. Get your rubber mallet and a BIG screw driver and bang at it until it comes off or you give up. In a couple of days when it comes off you can take the lens out (if you haven't cracked it or broken it in a hundred pieces) and the H-4 bulb. The LED will fit where the H-4 did and just plug it in.

Putting it back together the rubber gasket will fall off the outside shell which you won't be able to hold in place when you put it back together so you will toss it and your headlight will leak and rattle. :bang:

You will love the LED but hate yourself for not doing it right.

Have fun!

:roll::roll::roll::roll:Damn your funny Bill...I just wish I lived closer to you so I could share a drink with you occasionally.:flag:

Mine wasn't to bad to do. Sometimes the inner and outer rings can be a bear to get out. As stated earlier...don't forget the set screw for the outer ring.
