Sure seems like a lot of money for something that Keeps a bike from moving.

Ever consider spending the money on something to make it GO better?? :spank:

Well I'm considering something to keep it upright when not being rode. I hate the wobbly BDM kickstand...

I saw those before. My only concern is this...

What happens if that fails and the bike drops over not spending the last $100 or so???

Second, I have heard of some the ball bearing lock gets worn and the kickstand falls while riding. Not good.

The ness ones are proven. I'm just not sure about the knockoffs for a kickstand...

Other opinions?

I haven't had any problems with mine after the re-call on the spring. Chrome doing good. Maybe they changed suppliers!

I can tell you that when my spring came off I was going down the F-way at about 75 and was leaning into a corner and the kickstand came down and when it touched the ground it went into the lock mode! Thought it was going to kick my rearend out from under me. I did inform Ron at BDM and next thing you know there is a re-call out on it. :2thumbs:

Later,
Ray

The BDM kickstand is junk. Wobbly, doens't stay in its set grove, hits the ground un-leveled...

I just don't want to use another piece of junk. You may not think about it... but its pretty important unless you like picking up your bike.

I ran into problems with this arlen ness kickstand.I found out that the kickstand wont adjust to 8in.The lowest it will go is 9in.I decided to remove the leg and found that i can remove 3/4 inch from the leg and grind back the flat.I know its alot of money for these kickstands but im going to make this work.I got no help from arlen ness.I was told that this kickstand fits all bigdogs.I can go with a spacer behind the kickstand thats thats tapered joker machine sells them.they call it 6degree plate.I decided to cut the leg to make it shorter.I expected to find a spring and ball when i removed the leg and found only a threaded hole.I will take more pictures when done.So if you already have one ordered you have been warned.05chop
