You might also remove the end plate from the starter solenoid and check the little bare wires that are attached to the terminal the green wire hooks to. One of those little wires on my bike broke and kept it from cranking. Soldered it back together and haven't had any trouble again. (Just a thought.)For sure.......Add this to the post above......Put in a new relay and nothing.
K9 LE....pretty sure its stock....... pulling the starter for a test as well.
An inline fuse.Making good progress. Had the starter checked out.....All good.
New EHC is here....... would be a good time to add something between the battery and EHC...What goes there?
X2 yesAn inline fuse.
When you hit the start button do the Compression releases Click? At the same time do you get 8 to 12 vdc at the green wire going to the starter solenoid ?Everything hooked up.....and......click!
The EHC supplies the voltage to the starter solenoid when the start switch is selected. Considering you did not get a reading on the green wire from both EHC's the issue must be the between the EHC and the starter solenoid.CR’s click…no voltage at the green wire.
First move should be an ohm reading before you spend time trying to visually find a break in the wire. Plenty of time to find the break after you verify that's your issue.Thanks....tracing the green wire back will be my first move!
The connecters look pretty grubby....may just need a good cleaning.
I guess it would be smarter to check for continuity between the ends of that circuit before fighting all the loops and tangles tracing that wire.First move should be an ohm reading before you spend time trying to visually find a break in the wire. Plenty of time to find the break after you verify that's your issue.
Be sure to disconnect the battery while you are messing with the EHC, it's easy to forget but always advised. Also after you check and clean the connector be sure to replace the dielectric grease for long term benefit against poor connections.
Not likely the cause. Take the ohm reading and make sure the pins are not backed out.I packed the new EHC during installation...thought maybe I put too much in there!
