Making progress on the Rebuild. You can see from the first two pictures what saltwater will do to a bike (Hurricane)! I've replaced all the oil pump bolts/plugs, oil Sensor, oil lines/fittings, and the drive gear. Couldn't get the OEM gear so I opted for a Short Belt Kit. Two teeth less and shorter drive belt for additional low end torque. I've got all the chrome packed up ready for SpaceCoast. Supposed to be a 6 week process. I'm thinking about doing the swingarm bushings while I've got everything tore down (If i canfind all theparts). Not sure how difficult that is but I'll look in my manual.

Thanks...a good start. I've got so much tore down I just hope I can remember where everything goes. I've received most of the fork assembly but waiting on Donna to send the key lock disc that Mounts on the top and bottom of the triple tree. So...can't proceed until I get it. Overall I'm happy how things are going so far. I found these forward Controls on ebay, still in the box for $500. I had planned on using my big dog OEM passenger peg Mounts and installing the tribal pegs...that didn't work. I had no idea Peg design for big dog was different. Anyway, received a set of Accutronix Rear Peg Mounts today. The mounting bolt is on the inside so I just swapped the original and it bolted up fine. There's a second (vacant) rear Peg mount bolt hole. Also the two bolt holes from the exhaust bracket. I'm going to use Spike Bolt Heads on all. Should look ok.

Never had air ride or compressor so idk. I’m sure it’s comfy, just IMO one more thing to tear up.

So, while I've got the bike tore down I decided to go ahead and replace the swingarm bushings and give the shaft a look. Measuring from the rear fender to the top of the tire, there's a half inch difference between the two sides. ive suspected there might be a bushing problem. I knew I'd have to pull the oil tank and battery Box. My battery Box looks a little rough so I looked it up to decide whether it was worth the expense ($125). While reading the specs on the battery Box it said K9/W Air Ride. I downloaded a file on the Air ride install and it seems pretty straightforward. I knew the components were a little expensive and I'm already WAY over budget but I looked it up anyway. I found all the components (Except Shocks) on ebay for $400. I offered $250 and got it. I've got new Shocks now (Wildsteadworx) so I thought I would just install the compressor components now and hold off on the Shocks. I then started to wonder if spare parts were available. Solenoids seem available but the compressor I wasn't 100% sure about. I plan to keep my bike forever so having a spare compressor would make me feel alot better before purchasing the shocks.

As you can see (Pic 3), Bike is tore down pretty well. This weekend I hope to get the Swingarm, oil tank & battery Box removed. I mentioned in an earlier post that I purchased an Air Ride system (Minus Shocks). When I replace the battery Box I'm going to install the Air Ride compressor/solenoid. I've located a used pressure gauge (Pic 2). I like the chrome, Arlen Ness Oil pressure gauge mount. I'd really like to install a dual gauge (Oil & Air). I've seen this setup on a Big Dog before but I haven't been able to locate one. Anyone know where I could find this?

Try Erik that use to work with Donna and Derrik. Seems he had a set up on his k9 that was dual gauges on the right side and single on the left. Think his was, oil, voltage on the dual side and amps on the left. Or something like that. Can't remember off the top of my head.

Thanks. I've got his old number when he worked with Donna but I tried texting him a while back and didn't get a response. He sold me his K9 tarp so I know he remembers me. During the video he made on the BLOW exhaust he mentioned that he was replacing his FSD exhaust. I'd like to buy it...he has a L.S.D. so not sure if it will fit. So I'll try Donna when she calls on my order. Question; wasn't there an Orange K9 that had a T143 installed and BIG DOG was advertising it? I'm pretty sure that's where I saw the Dual gauge setup. Seems like all the really good items for our bikes is almost impossible to find . Anyway...appreciate your help.

I still haven't given up on Frankie for about exhaust. If you hear from him please tell him I'd pay $500 extra. I just really like his product.

I'll let him know. He told me a while back he would make me a custom exhaust for my bagger but yet I've heard nothing. I want to believe in the guy but from what I'm seeing on FB hes just spending time with his kids and spending time on the water.

I've checked with other shops about making a custom exhaust, similar but not identical to FSD. They're $2,000 plus and I'd still be concerned about proper fitment. Knowing that Frankie has the correct specs for a K9, I have no fitment concerns. So, I'm sending all my Chrome to Spacecoast this afternoon...I estimate $6k-$7k, my fenders, tank, and battery panels are at the paint shop. Because it's mostly air-brush, I expect another $6k-$7k. Donna, Barnes Performance, EBay, Baker transmission, and S&S is already over $11k. So, I don't have a solution for my exhaust except go back to the V&H...I don't want to do that. Not knowing that Frankie was semi-retired I was counting on using his exhaust. So, given the amount of my investment so far, I would even pay double. I need that exhaust. If you could make that happen for me I'd gladly give you $200 for brokering the deal. Tell Frankie I'll pay in advance if that's necessary. I'm just out of options and I want this bike to have his pipes. I cannot find anything else that even comes close. So...really appreciate anything you can do to help.

I would also like a set for my K9. Maybe a third set would get him interested

I told him a while back that I had 15 ppl wanting those exhaust pipes and he seemed very interested in getting to work on them but needed time to get his shop going. But haven't heard anything else from him. I will message him today and see what he says.

I can't thank you enough for your efforts. I'd love to give you the $200. I'm more than a little stressed about this because I've already exhausted my options. Frankie is the only way...even if I have to wait.

The dual mount is exactly what I want. I'd like to have them match in size (Oil, air). Do you know of a shop that would build me one? I've got an extra Rocker box I could send so they could get the right specs on Mounting. Also, I could purchase the gauges from the same manufacturer so they would match.
