Who were the dudes that told me that Sheldon SOLD his share of BDM's?

They swore up and down he wasn't involved anymore, when I said he was....come on fellas' you know who you are....step up.

Tank, I think your in denial... Lena pretty much turned you into a rubber ducky. I'd venture to say Strokers does a bit more business than BDM Tampa, so I'd trust her statement that Rick spoke with the boss.

One way or the other guys, you'll be fine and so will your bikes. I've been there & done that with AIH. If the company is done, more than likely your warranties are done too. Not that it should be an issue anyways. Hell I only had a 6 month warranty on mine when I bought it new.............thanks to a big ole' 124ci S&S.

Atta girl Lena - Actually she is right.

You liquidate (close) under Chapter 7 or you can reorganize under Chapter 13.which is what I believe Tank was referring to.

You should know that under Chap 7 you don’t close the doors and leave. After you file, the court will place the company into receivership and appoint a trustee to run the company. The purpose of the trustee is to get a financial picture of the company, inventory assets and liabilities. A minimal staff remains to assist with the transition, contact vendors, etc etc. This would normally include the receptionist and other administrative personnel. Money owed to the government takes precedence.

It is a “process” and not an “event” and can take months to years to complete.

One sure way of knowing is to see if the court docs have been filed. I assume it would be in the 18th Judicial District Court, I just did a search and came up empty which means it either has not be filed or has yet to make it to their on-line system.

Sorry guys, this is all my fault... I bought a Pontiac G8 in 2008 and one year later Pontiac is gone. Then I buy a Big Dog and a month later they fold... hmmm...

:iagree: with the exception that if BDM wanted to reorganize (as in implementing a new business model such as an after market parts seller?) they would file Chapter 11 not Chapter 13. Yes, I know I'm picking fly shit out of pepper here but there's already enough third party info flying around in this thread!

Bottom line, all that "insolvent" means is that a company (or individual) has more liabilities than assets, period. It doesn't mean they're out of business! I'd bet the only people that actually know what BDM plans to do from here is Coleman and his lawyers. We'll all just have to stay tuned, same bat channel, same bat time! :hi:

I also searched Next-Generation EDGAR system - Better Data. Stronger Markets. and found nothing... :D

PS Has anyone actually seen or heard an announcement from Coleman? After all, everything else is just hearsay...

I'm going to chose to believe Lena. If I were expecting to shut a company down and continue under a different name i would want my previous best selling dealerships on board to move my product. There are many dealerships that have moved away from BDM and could care less whether they sale another Big Dog or not. One in particular started selling BMW and moved them all up in the windows and stuck the Big Dogs back off in the far corner. And at the current prices they're asking "23k" for 09' bikes they'll probably have them awhile.
I don't believe Lena would lie to us. She's a active member on here and seems to care about the direction of the company. I also don't believe she would de-value her current inventory by spreading a "rumor ". If it isn't happening right this minute I think it's very soon to come.
I'll continue reading this thread but I'm done posting. I can't add anything here so I'll just sit back and wait. Goodluck to BDM and their future endeavors.:flag:
