I know some guys that would send new racecar parts out of the country, before they would cover the parts with dirt an grease,so the taxes were for used parts:flag:
Will the grease do anything to the paint or chrome?

Grease won't hurt it. Just take some time to clean it.

What about taking the bike down to rolling chasis and shipping the rest to yourself? Or would the cost to ship be more than the taxes?

Keep in mind that some of the products mentioned by our friends here... If left on for awhile, especially if it's in the sun, could potentially be very hard to remove later.

Ed,

I know "it would be hard for you to do", but why don't you just offer up this guy a fast, cheap, and real shitty paint job to do the trick he's looking for!
Can't you still get those paints that have an aroma? You know like apples, oranges, peppermint etc.

Just get him one that smells like a piece of really obnoxious shit!:rant:

or...

You could just paint a mural picture of Eric on his bike.

Eric looks dirty and cheap! :2thumbs: .....:D:lol::lol::lol:

Then when his purpose is served, you can really hook him up with something that will be the talk of the "country", in this case! :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

Just an idea! :loony:...:D

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

:D:cheers:

I'd use a waterbased paint like createx, paint the bike to look rusted, greasy and worn. Just be sure not to clear coat. Get it where it's going and then wash the paint job off. Any stubborn paint should come off with some compound and voila! you are back to your good paint.

Or, better yet, just have Ed paint it too look rusty, falling apart with cracks and tears in the metal. His work is so incredible that customs would probably not want to get to close in fear of getting dirty or cutting themselves on the torn rusted metal!

This aint no joke and I am dead serious. I will be moving the bike there permanently, so no I do not want to rent no bike. And this will save me a hell of aot of money if customs come up with a much cheaper price that what it looks like. For guys that have heard what other guys have done can tell you that it saves a person thousands of dollars in evaluation taxes. They want close to 20k in reg taxes man. If I can convince them to give me a lower price why not??

Can you get some of the clear plastic paint protector, put it on the tins and then add grease? Wash and remove plastic and all should be good. Also, how about just taking some hose and wires (not actually attached to the system) and have them randomly haning out from under the tank, battery cover, seat etc. Make it look like a disheveled rat's nest. Get some "Doe in Heat" spray and hose the bike down just before shipping also. They probably won't want to get close at that point.

By the way, is there such a thing as colored wax? I mean aI apply something like a colored wax that will change the color of the bike tanks and fendors, then when I feel like it just remove with wax remover with no harm done to my original paint job?
