Just installed my programmable thunderheart. I had major issues getting the damn frozen Philip screws out (from the inside of the battery tray on my 08 k9). Then I had the "cannot establish a link" issue. Thanks to you guys here, I was able to work it out. I just wanted to mention that I did not uninstall and reinstall the program after it did not work. I just downloaded the driver for the serial to USB adapter and that solved the problem. I used windows 8. also, I switched tach setting from 0 to 1, as recommended here. As for the settings, I have a fully stock bike with V&H 2-2 big radius, running 31 int and 74 main. I'm in central FL. I tried both #2 & #3. I found that #3 felt exactly like stock, while #2 pepped her up a bit. Also, I found the bike to run more smoothly across all rpm ranges. It is a nice improvement over stock... Definitely just a bit "torquier". Not a ton more torque, but just responsive enough to make me feel like I may not need to go to the .585 right now. We'll see, but I like it. One of these days I will dyno the bike at least on settings 2&3 and see how the numbers look.
