TH Software (ASM-5012) This is Thunder Heart programable ignition module. It has preprogramed settings and I believe you can set your own also. You can purchase it for plug n play.
Yup! :2thumbs:

WSW (Kaptin...) has them now too.

I've testet it also - and the Thunderheart smartlink software said: "Wrong ID".

On my Harley with a thunderheart ignition it works fine... what fu***** ID the SW mean?

The one (Ignition Module) on your K9 is Stock or the ASM5012? If it is the stock one you will not be able to get in as BDM locked them at the factory.

Yeah, I'm having issues with the hardware detecting the module. I've tried un-installing the software and installing the software to include un-install and install the adapter cable driver. The program still cannot detect the module. All I'm trying to do is change the Tach Cal. I'm using windows 7 and the hardware does say it supports it.

Does eneyone know if there's a seperate driver for the data cable that comes with the thunderheart kit? Is it inbedded within the disc set-up or is there a seperate driver for that cable?

It just wont link up to the module...:bang:

And yes I do have the bike powered up when trying to establish the link and the modules red light is on. I tried it static and with the scoot running, still no joy....

I am not sure if this was what did the trick with me but.... what I did was first plug all cables PC to Module, then power it up AND THEN install the Software and drivers for the adapter. I did work for me.

So I should un-install everything and load it all up while connected to the scoot while the scoot is powered up? Did your computer detect new hardware once you started?

So this is my question? Does the thunderheart software (disc included with the kit) include the data cable driver? I had to purchase the USB to RS232 adapter in order to connect the cable assembly to the lap top. I had installed the thunderheart software and I installed the adapter cable driver. So, everything was installed on the lap top. When I tried to link up with the module, I got a message that stated, "module not found".

So now I'm going to un-install everything and load it back up while connected to the powered up module. I hope this works! :(

Yes and Check also the Port COM, make sure your PC is reading from the correct one.
Yeah I actually did that prior also! It kept reverting back to automatic in which it should have picked up which port was hooked up. But for shits and giggles, I changed it to the port I was hooked up to and I got the same results! :spank:

This shouldn't be so complicated

Ok, update! I got the lap top to link up to the module finally. I didn't do anything but go to the site for the cable adapter and perform a driver download from the vendors web page. I left the thunderheart program on the PC and went out and powered up the scoot and viola it linked. So, I'm believing the software was out of date for my newly bought cable adapter. Now my RPMs are spot on. Just so you know, I went from 0 to 1 on the value... :D :2thumbs:

Thanks Franco and BWG56 for your help! :2thumbs:

Just installed my programmable thunderheart. I had major issues getting the damn frozen Philip screws out (from the inside of the battery tray on my 08 k9). Then I had the "cannot establish a link" issue. Thanks to you guys here, I was able to work it out. I just wanted to mention that I did not uninstall and reinstall the program after it did not work. I just downloaded the driver for the serial to USB adapter and that solved the problem. I used windows 8. also, I switched tach setting from 0 to 1, as recommended here. As for the settings, I have a fully stock bike with V&H 2-2 big radius, running 31 int and 74 main. I'm in central FL. I tried both #2 & #3. I found that #3 felt exactly like stock, while #2 pepped her up a bit. Also, I found the bike to run more smoothly across all rpm ranges. It is a nice improvement over stock... Definitely just a bit "torquier". Not a ton more torque, but just responsive enough to make me feel like I may not need to go to the .585 right now. We'll see, but I like it. One of these days I will dyno the bike at least on settings 2&3 and see how the numbers look.
