HELP! - My PC cannot stablish a link

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang: THE COMPUTER SAYS NO!!!! I´ve tried with both, Windoes 7 & 8.... I am giving up, I dont look at the tach anyways! :angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

Oh yeah, is this the ignition system your talking me into buying? I can see it now since I'm not computer savy, I would be on the bike while my wife would be programing the computer on the bike for me and she would prolly set the rev limiter to 2200 RPMs.:roll:

LOL, nah Bro. you have to do nothing, only if your Tach is not reading what it should. I am the only one who has had trouble with this and I think it is because the cable/adapter I bought... lost the CD :bang:

I will buy a new cable and will sort it out! :up:

that's your problem!!:lol: you need the cd man!!! you have to install the driver for the cable, then do it like you were!!:up:

I have downloaded the drivers from their webpage.... still nothing!

Could it be this is the wrong adapter? If so, which one do you recommend? http://plugable.com/drivers/prolific

It might be the adapter. Is the adapter the one recommended by the TH software?

More than likely it's some minor over-site. Freakin computers are a pain in the azz.

Have you tried the second USB port on your laptop? I read in the manual that if you have a problem connecting to the module to try a different COM port(USB).

Ker, I left it on 3 (more conservative) but I did try it on 4 and was running also very good. I have read here somewhere that If you are low altitude and have good gas you can go higher.

I´ve done it with my laptop with Windows 8 and the Thunder Heart Smart-Link IV Ignition SFW5012. The adapter is a cheap $5 one made in china lol

I have a question for you guys who already have made the upgrade... Is there a different software for the Stock IM vs the Programmable one?

I did try to read the stock one and it did not allowed me to establish the link I wanted to find out how many Hours, max revs hits, etc. the bike have had in the past.

TH Software (ASM-5012) This is Thunder Heart programable ignition module. It has preprogramed settings and I believe you can set your own also. You can purchase it for plug n play.
