That's Ray's (diplomatic) way of saying, "if you want to get personal, PM the guy and tell him to fuck off or arrange a meeting and beat the shit out of each other/buy each other a beer (your choice :D ), just keep the back & forth BS off the forum".

But I don't stand alone here with some negative feelings about certain aspects of bdm parts, look at what some members do just to get away from them. Alhall just spent hundreds of dollars and lots of time on his bike to take it from a running EHC bike to a EHC-less running bike. Hundreds of dollars to just have a running bike again at the end of the day. Why? To rid himself of the "pending doom" (as I've been coined for recently) with the EHC. Jake himself has damn near had EHC-less tatooed on his forehead for months now. These are just more examples to support what I've said.

Jake,
The quote you credited to me, was actually Gas Man's (just to set the record straight). Check it out.

This was my reply to Gas Man:
"I agree completely, thus the harley wiring on my chopper and me still scratching my head about how to keep my K-9 project bike pretty much stock, use the BDM controls, and EHC yes or no???"

a lot of life left in this thread. just got to look at it at a different angle.

"Geezer" (according to Webster's unabridged, 2nd ed) an eccentric old man or woman.
---Therefore the term geezer is gender neutral, so ladies, we can *all* become geezers when the time approaches, aren't we thrilled? ;-)
--This also implies that "geezer-glide" is appropriate for the bagger belonging to a geezer of either gender.
"-ette" means "little", therefore a geezerette would be a *little* eccentric ol old guy or gal.
"-ee" means the recipient of an action, so I guess that would mean that geezerhood could be granted to someone, who would be the geezee until they are called a geezer .
"geezen" would be the process of becoming a geezer.
"gaffer" is defined as "an old man".
"gammer" is defined as "an old woman".
SO, we can have gaffers, gammers, or geezers, riding geezer-glides.

Japanese bagger with female pilot: Geisha-Glide
HD bagger in official black and orange: Gila-Glide
Gold-plated bagger: Gilded Glide
Chromed-out bagger: Glitter-Glide
Tricked-out bagger: Gizmo-Glide
Bagger for delivering foodstuffs: Grocer-Glide
Stupid-looking bagger: Goofy-Glide
Really ugly bagger: Gagger-Glide
Bagger for those with terminal wanderlust: Gypsy-Glide
Bagger belonging to a guy with slicked-back hair: Greaser-Glide
Environmentally-friendly bagger: Greener-Glide
Bagger only ridden to church on Sundays: Gospel-Glide
Bagger only ridden to dinner rides: Gumbo-Glide
And when you're too old for a Geezer-Glide, you get a: Geriatric Glide

so i'm thinking what name will fit?

gizmo grocer greener gumbo geezenette glide! :whoop:

I've been away from the site for a few weeks on business, and I haven't read all this thread but I will respond by saying this.
Gas man is one heck of a wrench and he has my utmost respect when it comes to that.
I've wrenched on many Panheads, shovelheads, flatheads, built 57 pan and 81, 76, shovels and rode and wrenched on many a chopper when choppers weren't cool, so I've spent some time in the department of riding and wrenching.
Here's my old school opinion for what it's worth. Guys coming from the sport bike arena are just that sport bike folk. It takes a certain cowboy to ride a big V-twin and have the stamina and diligence to keep it up. It takes a certain heart or drive to know what makes up a V-twin engine and all the things that it takes to care for it.
Sorry Gas but you moving on reminds me of how we used to look for a nice used bike( HD). Find a rookie that just bought one and can't stand it or cant handle it, and scoop it up for next to nothin. That has happened for years.
V-twin motors are made for a certain breed of folk and not everyone fits that mold. The problem here is i believe Gas just figured that out. The sad part is from reading his posts and threads I know darn good and well he could keep em up.
If I read somewhere on this site that Gas has now reverted back to the sport bike arena I for one will be highly disapointed. The kid can wrench and it sure would be nice to know he will stick around the V-twin community.
