If you push on the outside of the handlebars going into a turn you will not have to lean as hard. try it, push on outer part of grips.
Yeah your right! I realize that the only way to really control these bikes is by counter steering - just like a flat tracker!

Man that sucker is LOW! Does look cool though! Do you know who does make a good air ride system for the k-9?

I just bought my K-9 in Raleigh NC and took her back to bama - beautiful rolling hills you have out there!
If you stick with the factory air ride you can't go wrong. The bone heads at my dealer, their gone now, tried two different air rides before finally putting on, what I had wanted in the first place, the factory system. If you stick with the stock controls, I have since changed them out, it integrates with the controls which is kinda cool. Our thin primary's provide less room underneath for the shocks so the air shock set up is different from all the others. In addition the stock unit is designed to fit behind the electrical panels under the seat so you don't have to worry about where you are going to put the compressor unless you think having the compressor expose some how makes your bike look more mechanized. Whhhaattt
By the way I am 6-5 and weigh 320 and my air ride works great. I can get full height for clearance when riding hard, although I still have to use alot of counter stear when riding fast, and with a quick flick I can get low rider on your ass like our brother above.

Only danger with draggin the pipes is being pushed into the other lanes.

It does give the riders following you a thrill when sparks start flying at night when scraping the pipes. Scrape the pigs sometimes.
Or, ya could just slow down and not drag anything.:D

I have only had my 07 K-9 for a couple of weeks and was a little shocked when I saw the frame damage from scrapeing. I believe some of it was caused by some speed bumps near my place of work. I don't have the painting tools to sand the frame down and do the job right. My goal here was to just try something to keep the chipped paint from chipping even more and of course to stop the corrosion of the bare metal.

1) First I used automotive touch up paint on the bare areas and let dry
2) Cut strips of grip tape and rounded the edges
3) Wiped frame down with degreaser and applied the grip tape
4) Hopefully the tape will stay on as its made for Truck running boards etc.

My goal here is to lessen the damage of future scrapes in hopes that the very rough tape will take some of the beating and save some of the paint. If I scrape again, I can just replace the tape. I thought this might be an easier approach than trying to paint it with undercoating etc. The tape is not noticeable when walking around the bike. Anyway we will see it this works out....
That's a great great idea! Looks real clean on the install as well. Way to go!

Thanks Curtis - that is exactly the information I was looking for concerning the air ride thing - have been very confused on just what will work...
