Sooooo, a customer of mine who is a member of this forum ordered a 330 Avon rear tire off ebay from Bourget Bike works. It was a great deal, but come to find out once the tire arrived yesterday, it is date stamped 0205. Meaning, it was produced the 2nd week of 2005...almost 9 years old!!!

So, both myself and the customer emailed Bourget and asked them for a return shipment label, along with another tire or a refund. They replied back stating, there will not be any refunds given, all the tires we have are made in 05 and 06, we have over 3000 in stock, we use them all the time and no problems, and we are the ones who paid AVON to make a mold for the 330 tires, and they were only built in 05 and 06........Ok, this is news to me!!! So I called them and explained that I can not put this tire on the bike because of liability reasons. In NY state, we are not allowed to mount anything over 3 yrs old. She said, I have never heard of such a law.
She is refusing to do anything about this situation. My customer is pissed and I don't blame him. It's no wonder some of the guys on here are having problems with the tire splitting, they are 9 yrs old!!
Does anyone know if this is true about only being produced in 05 and 06? I call bullshit!! They built the 330 Ridgeback in 08:loony:
