My Mastiff is the same year as yours and it was an EFI before I have converted it to carb.
There are only three fittings on the bottom side of the tank. The front two are for the cross over hose
and the third one towards the back of the bike is plugged with a plug.

Paul.
Thanks Paul.. Interesting.. Don't know why someone put a pipe on it!?

The Vent pipe throws out fuel vapours looking with a hand light at night after a ride..
Ive moved the hose to show it is the hose thats fitted to the L fitting under the tank.. The Black Canister which is in the pics came with the bike inside the sissy bag..It looks too big to fit under the Tank?

Donna and Derek sell vented caps
If i replace it with a vented cap, do i block the vent under the tank?
Ive tried looking at the PDF Manuals on here but they dont show the tank ..
If i could see how the piping is setup for the bottom tank vent and see how it works and why it drips fuel..
But theres nothing on line that shows a exploded view of the tank..

part five is your problem. It's a plug according to the manual. someone has dicked with this tank. If it were mine I would drain the tank of fuel, un screw the fitting and put a plug in it and then fill the tank with clean fuel and give it a go. If you bought this out of the country or in California it's probably been modified to some epa standards of that the normal for theses bikes.
Thanks . What ill do is try using compressed air on number 5 and see if it vents throught the filler cap or anywhere else.. If there is some other vent for expansion then ill plug up No 5.. Cheers fore that..

All sorted out..
That vent pipe used to go into a Carbon Canister and any fuel, fumes got sucked into the engines intake once the engine has started..
The vent under the tank goes to the top of the inside of the tank just below the fuel cap.. Theres a round plate inside the tank just below the filler cap and where the Top Vent intake is.. I fitted a plastic tubing in the top vent in the top of the inside of the tank to raise the vent pipe by 10mm .. So when fully filling the tank ( but below the round plate ) there`s less chance of fuel running into the top vent and then dripping out of the bottom vent under the tank..
Ive fitted a braided line from the bottom vent of the tank and ran it down the bottom of the the bike frame..
The braided line i used has a small orifice ..........
The filler cap has a one way valve to only vent into the tank, so no fumes can vent out from the fuel cap..

Mine is a non-California EFI and that is plugged. I would do the same.
Your filler cap would be fully Vented with a relief valve... And wouldnt have a carbon canister as mine did..
Someone removed the canister before it arrived in Australia 3 months ago..
So it probably was a Californian bike.

Yes its a vented cap. They are readily available. If you need one you can have mine, as I have a custom pop up now. I even removed the vent tube from the tank.

Are the efi bikes equipped with a charcoal canister that line your showing appears to me to be an overflow of some sort or venting line it must attach to something if that's the case
Look like its been cut short mine connects to the back of the tank and will vent to the charcoal canister.

So where does the canister sit?
Mine was removed before I bought the bike.
There seems to be no room under the seat!
The canister was bolted just in front of the voltage regulator between the down tubes at the bottom Tomorrow I will try to take a picture of my set up
