One good way to tell if your battery is going is to check your headlight at idle, rev the bike up and see if it gets brighter. If it dims when it hits idle the battery is not fully charged and/or is going bad.
Buy the largest cca battery ( forgot part #) from Harley Davidson I get good batt life have several bikes including 2 big dogs.Hey guys,my last two batteries have been Braille B2015's,I get about 2 1/2 yrs out of so that's not too bad, when they shit the bed they really shit the bed.My question is,has anyone found a real good cranking battery that will put up with Fl. heat?,the bike is kept on a tender, and I don't ride as much as I'd like to(back issues) When I lived In NY I ran a Yuasa that lasted about 2 1/2 yrs also, that's with a tender on it all winter(at least 4-5 months).BTW I just called Auto anything for a price,$187,In 2013 it was $151.Just looking for opinions on a better battery to handle the heat,if there is one.
Thanks,Lars
would you happen to know if the Yuasa smart shot 900 charger/maintainer is suficent for AGM,I've had it for a few years (7?),..Thx.I don't use the tender any more (because I don't have the special one that the AGM batteries require)
YES, according to Yuasa;would you happen to know if the Yuasa smart shot 900 charger/maintainer is suficent for AGM,I've had it for a few years (7?),..Thx.
Now, that sounds very good!TomiokaTR-B1500 racing battery for me. Lasted 4 years. New on Amazon for $153.

my other battery's that I have tested in the past load tested to 800amps. So I ordered a new Duracell and will have it load tested before I pick it up. I can throw this Harley battery in my 4wheeler, yes my Polaris 4wheeler takes the same battery as the Dog, whats the odds of that.

That's what I have it on, I just called it a tenderi use a battery minder it has full time desulfating mode which drastcaly helps prolong battery life, its a little more expensive than a battery tender but is compaitable with agm and gel batteries

Yeah, that would suck the big onei got it a few years ago for the batteries in our seadoos(odyssey) i never wanted to cheap out on a battery for a watercraft, wouldnt be fun getting stranded out on lake erie!

I use a old pickup bed floormat, , been around forever , cut to fit .is there anything i could use in the battery tray to help with vibration ?
You could buy some sill insulation at Home Depot or Lowe's, a roll is 6" wide by 50'. its not expensive and its 1/4" thick and it will compress. Cut a piece about 15-16" long and wrap it down the side under the bottom and back up. Just make sure that your seat doesn't hit the hot lug on the battery, it could ground out.is there anything i could use in the battery tray to help with vibration ?
