Do you park your dog in nuetral?

I *usually* park in neutral unless there is a chance it will roll....Finding neutral on this thing can be a royal pain in my ass..I have found neutral isn't quite so hard to find if I'm rolling, if the bike is sitting still like at a light it jumps over neutral to the next gear pretty easy..

I also am one to shut the gas off after its been parked for the day, I let it idle until the carb runs dry and the bike stalls out...Never liked letting gas sit in a carb, plus with my job I rarely know when the next ride will be.. :bang:

2X :up: This is the hardest bike I've ever had to get into natural. Getting the gas out of the carb is also a good idea because it will varnish up quick and plug things up.

I'd be interested in seeing a pic of the interrupt? Part number? Sounds like a GREAT IDEA Mike. :2thumbs:

The relay that I used was a standard late model Big Dog horn relay, I think I bought it from bigdogpartsking. You could even use the existing horn relay if you don't mind losing the horn function. (who likes the mo-ped horns anyway..)

A 12VDC SPDT relay will work ( very easy to find at auto parts store). I liked the horn relay because it already had leads on it and a mounting bracket built in to the base.

I can work on a wiring diagram , but it will be a few days as I am going to be out of town for a while..

Its a simple circuit, that uses the relay to open the starter solenoid trigger wire when the neutral light is off.

Let Andrew tune your tranny, he only charges like 400 for the whole rebuilt! Money well spent?

When I had the OEM kickstand, I never parked in gear. Now that I have this new one from Arlen Ness, I park in gear every time. I just dont trust. I ve seen my bike slowly creep forward while idling. Luckily I was there right beside it. It looks good and is at the same angle as the original. Its just the swivel point bolt is very smooth and easy to swing.

Ya, we have 2 different setups. The belt drive didn't help so the only way to get it in neutral is with my hand with the bike off. Tried resetting the linkage, clutch and all that. It's starting to leak oil from the tranny so soon it will go to Andrew... The bike will go into neutral when up shifting real easy but not at an idle.

My tranny has also been just rebuild and it does NOT goes into Neutral while idling... it never has been... the trick is to roll the throttle a bit and it gets into Neutral easy :up:

Your really close so try this,
Instead of backing off 1/4 turn, get a good feel, meaning turn it in and touch the throw out bearing a couple times to get the feel, and then touch and ever so slightly back off, maybe 1/16 turn instead, take note to where the alan wrench is pointing and make sure when you tighten the locking nut on the clutch rod that you DO NOT turn the alan wrench.
I have the soft pull balls and ramp but I did not use the 9 plate clutch, still have original clutch in.
