wanted to give an update and say thanks for the help! i put the compufire 40 amp 3 phase on my K9 and it is working perfect! very easy install! i think it is awesome that guys on here are so willing to help and even offer their spare parts to get a fellow biker back on the road!
Not a lick. Only difference with 3 phase is at idle it's like 14v.Since I installed the voltmeter on mine I can watch the volts as I ride and was wondering what the big advantage would be to go to the 3 phase? I have 13.3-13.5 at idle, and anytime I'm going down the road no matter what RPM's its running at 14.3-14.4 volts. Now I realize its not Amps, but does the 8 additional amps really make that much difference![]()

Extra amps are not needed on a big dog unless you got a stereo, heated grips and a bunch of other malarkey.

Unless the bosses have been grounded down before the rotor wouldn't fit square without it. Actually I don't think you could get it on, unless you took off the inner primary as well.Hey Guys.
So I just installed my 40 amp on my 09 K9. Pretty easy task but I did not have to grind any tabs nor did I use any spacers and other parts that came in the kit except the rotar and stator.
Did I install this wrong or is it possible that's its pretty much plug and play?
