If you see me driving home at night though the park I'm the guy going 15 mph because I can't see much of the raod in front of me. Oh and if I turn on the high beam all I can see is what's in the trees. Yes they work great on the highway when I want to see the over head signs.

dam JR07....if you can see the tree's dude.....ya need to adjust your bucket down a little bit!:eek: when I put the PIAA in mine with the stock headlamp...I could tell a big difference in the light.....on low beam and high beam. I get out of work at 10:30pm and I have a 50 min. drive home...around 40 miles....and when I get on them roads with no street lights.....that PIAA lights up the road pretty good.....I will also probably change out my headlamp for a aftermarket one sometime this year...but the PIAA bulb is the same wattage as the stock H-4..so you won't have to worry about the bulb putting out too much heat...as Ray mentioned about the melting. I put my bulb in when I had 628 miles on my scoot....now I have 5067 miles and no problems at all!:whoop:

I do have some recollection of discussions regarding HID installations - but the conclusion in the end was insufficient room inside the bucket for the ballast. If you have a complete solution that has proven workable with Big Dogs, we'd sure like to see some details, including pics. :up:

Until recently, all of the ballasts that were specific to HID applications were absolutely huge. We were mounting these ballasts on the outside of the bike in all of our HD applications. Now, we have the option of constructing these HID kits with a "digital" ballast thats slimmer, smaller, and has a infinate lifespan. The older "standard" ballasts were comparable to ballasts found in overhead lighting, and did have a life expectancy. With the new digital ballasts, theres ample room in the headlight bucket to keep everything contained inside!

I've taken a photo of a dresser here in the shop with a standard H4 bulb, and a Mastiff with a HID installed, ready for upload. I'll get the photos on the site this evening when I get home from the shop. :2thumbs:

Yes you would think the bucket was pointed up but it's not. When on low it appears that the light is correct. Hit the high beam switch and your lighting up the trees. I will try adjusting it down more down and see what happens.

I've noticed that also JR. Maybe a new lens is the key as well as the PIAA bulb.
But as you do I don't like riding at night cause of the deer here. But seems I'm alway riding in the dark anyway although I do slow down and use my hi beam as much as I can.

I have had a PIAA GT-X in this Ridge for 2 years and in my last for over a year with no issues. It Clearly is a hit and miss Adjure quality control issue.

No fogging with the Piaa Bulb and the stock housing.

I am working on a "TRUE" H4 HID Conversion to sell. I hope to have it nailed down soon, should be around the $70-80 mark somewhere.

Here are some pics of the 8000K H4 bulb in action. It draws less current than the stock H4, but runs off a 10,000 volt ballast. No high beam just like the high end cars, only low beam, but high is not needed. Available in 6000, 8000, & 10,000 Kelvin.

When I get this close to finished, I'll be posting a new thread about it in the Customizing section.

These photos taken in the shop today. I've photographed a HD ultra with a standard H4 bulb, and a local customer's Masttiff with our Performance EDGE digital ballast HID headlight kit installed. The ballast does fit inside the headlight bucket. And is about 1/3 the size of the ballast you saw here in the previous post by bdmridgeback. The light out put of the HID is incredible. Once you have a HID in your bike, you'll have it in every bike you own from now on, hands down.

Sylvania Silverstar in mine, brighter than stock and don't need the police jackin' me for havin too bright lights and not being OEM (HIDs), don't want to even do the plate flip, so I won't get pulled...

check with Gas Man JR07.....I know he has his 2 pack PIAA bulbs....he is going to be running a different light with different bulbs.....so...he might sell the pack he's got to ya....I snagged the Adjure Tri-Bar Black Dot headlamp from him!:whoop:
