scared me too until I got into it. Clipping those wires were a bit tricky but like Jake says you check, check, and check then clip. You gotta have a good wire stripper, soldering gun, a deutsch plug crimper ($45), lots of heat shrink, a dremel, some patience. It ain't a four hour job but you don't want to do it during riding season.
If you change your own oil/tranny/primary fluid and adjust your own clutch, or can change a throttle/ idle cable, you can do the wire plus. It ain't rocket science.
