Holy shit!!!

I was in the process of making a correction and BAM!!! :spank:

Anyway, even if you have one coil with three inputs and two outputs you STILL have two coils, they're just in the same package. That's what I should have said when I added the part about "unless the coil you use has single fire capabilities."

Hope I made more sense that time... :bang:

Right, dynatek calls it their twin fire coil- two singles in one. It's what they put in their d2ki-5p package. Usng this with the wire plus upgrade. Hope I can fit that freakin sporty switch for the wire plus under the stock coil cover with that new coil . Pretty tight undr there. Cheers. Gary

being you have an 04 it should have a cam sensor. open the timing cover to check. if yes then match up the wire diagram in the link i posted to your BD wire diagram in your service manual.

done deal.
2004 107" did NOT have crank sensore if that is what you ment. The 2004 Does have a cam mounted ignition, if that is what you ment.

Just clarification for those who don't understand.:D

Ooch. Marv, Jakes been a little testy cause I've been PMen him LOTS OF STUPID FUCKIN QUESTIONS about the wire plus, crank sensors, canm pickups, etc, etc.. So give him a break-he's actually a good guy.

On a better note just put some poly bushing in the risers of my road glide today. 14 inch apes need em in the riser- stock bushings were shit. What a diff. Road 30 miles up I15 to the barbary coast saloon in salt lake for some shots as a primer to a party 2nite. I"M EHCLESS AS OF TODAY, and I'm stupid happy. The big dog dealer can't believe that I would do it what do they freakin know. Takin plenty pics to hopfully add to Jakes thread, who is the man BTW. Out.

Oh Well, life goes on. Just posted that because there really isn't such a thing as a cam sensor in our Twins. Just was trying to clear that up to those Newbies reading that thought the cam sensor and crank sensor were the same! :)

Work in progress

Well. Here's the dog as of today.
Pic 1 - My bike on the rack.
Pic 2 - Is the new EHC I just put in last summer. Found the old style EHC from a dealer in Georgia. Nice an neat. Here goes.
Pic 3 - Was after a little surgery to remove the EHC.
Pic 4 - I cleaned up the EHC connector before I started clipping wires-the three rows of wires are sealed with a clear silicone. I removed the silicone the best I could so I could make sure I was cliiping the right wires.
Pic 5 - The work in progress.

Working on a horn harness, and the sporty switch tonight.

Suggestions: I soldered the bare ends of the wires before I crimped them in the deutsch sockets. Wire plus gives you 14-16 gauge sockets- so I know I got a better crimp after the end was twisted and the end soldered.

Get some cheater glasses, a comfortable seat, some tunes. It's not bad. Keep ya posted. Out. GC

Lookin Good, Keep on posting! It is a easy job, just consumes some time when doing a clean and correct job.

I say, check wire connections, check them again, then again, and then cut the wire!!!!

I did have a question for the dyna 2ki folks out there. I think the round module that fits under the timing cover is the entire ignition module. Do the Dyna module wires just connect to the BD harness wires after after the stock thunderheart module is removed or is there another square module that fits under the seat that the dyna wres connect to if that makes sense. Never put one in before but I know how to static time to get it down to be dyno'd. It's running way fat right now.

The Thunderheart module under the seat will get tossed. The 2ki is all self contained. Just follow the instructions that come with it and connect it to the factory wiring. I was going to convert mine over to a 2ki after I bought one and then decided on going with the programmable Thunderheart.

Well. the wire plus wiring is done- looks like a bird nest under the seat. Did a trial test of the new harness before changing out the ignition module, don't wanna trouble shoot two things at once- the bike fired up- and evrything works. Now on to the dyna 2ki. Gotta get rid of that thunderheart under the seat. Pics later

Actually, there was nothing wrong with the ehc that was in there. It only has about 500 miles on it I put the new one in last fall after the second one failed- total power failure while cruising at 80mph, speedo needle going nuts, tach flashing intermittently, headlight didn't work right. I just wanted to ditch the ehc since it gave me so many problems. The tech at BD when I was in sturgis two year ago said something about vibration at a constant rpm played havoc with the connections in the ehc. I'm finishing up the wire plus today. Takes awhile but take your time and you'll know your bikes electrical system for sure. Didn't really need the service manual at all cause Jake did such a great job with install pics.
