Tell me what you think. we are crusing at 60, with out warning the bike goes in netural, the clutch handle gets loose, with no pressure and the trans will not lock into any gear. broke shaft in trans or what...

Are you saying it is LITERALLY in neutral, with the green light on, or are you just saying it coasts freely AS IF it's in neutral? Also, what does the shifter feel like when you move it up and down?

That's EXACTLY what just happened to me. ( it's in the shop now. )

It was a tranny mainshaft......

Several others have had this issue too. I think Blitz has lost one and red dog one on two different bikes, I think he said.

Seems like a lot of them to me.

Big Dog is picking up the labor to rebuild the tranny but, I'm paying for the parts and labor to have the thing disassembled and re-assembled.

Damn, this seems as common as the clutch hub problem.

So far, that's a half dozen from this site alone. ( so far )

does anyone know what is causing this to happen? Is it something BDM is doing or just a weakness in the Baker transmission, which sounds unlikely?

Good info to pass on to us is.Don't always assume its BDM fault here every time something fails. They must have a failure Analise in there warranty dept.REGARDLESS if its iron or electrical issue. Now if its in there engineering dept thats another story to be told.Sounds like we have a major motorcycle co that cares about what they sell to the public.Just wish more info was available on exactly what failed and why.

what oil are you using!
I'm using the redline at the moment but may switch to the Amsoil Extreme, which I am currently running in the primary - Jake is running this too and I think he might be planning on running it in the trans. I remember Jake saying Bandit recommended it so presumably it is a good coolant - the recent posts about the Redline foaming up when it gots hot could be an issue?
