That sad caged Dog and Susan's look says it all doesn't it ?

Some of you may remember my remarks that the clutch was "out of adjustment", and the lever had much more play than I had noticed previously. I figured I'd look at it at my leisure when I got home. Well...........100 yards before our 1st gas stop on the way home today, the clutch cable just let go. Eric saw my motion so he pulls over and gasses up.

I called roadside assistance, then they realized there's nowhere to go. Then we google U-Haul and find one that's open only 10 miles away. Eric took me there, waited with Susan (back at the bike), and waited for the eternal rental process to complete, and then helped me load the bike. The tie-downs worked like a champ - bike never budged. And that's with a van that was as loud and rough as the chopper, and freeways that look like they run through a warzone. I-40 and US 69 are complete atrocities. I'm so happy Eric did not try that !!

I'm eternally grateful to Eric. But I was really distraught when a fine mist appeared just a few miles after we loaded. I knew we were trying to beat the impending storm accompanying the cold front. Thankfully there was only a few more seconds of mist, and we all stayed dry till we got home. Eric thankfully made it home before dark.

Thanks again Eric !!

That was me. Sorry I didn't put Eric in the pic, but Roadie looks the same as ever. I had the full on Santa look after the first 4 months. Then I took it down to just a goatee.

I was going for the biker look Dave and Harry have. But it looked more like the Wild West, which was weird.

I might try it again, see if I can get it right for next year.

What another great time at Daves again this year....i want to give a big thanks to Dave for letting all of us get together at his farm once again... Dave and Buffy are some of the best folks one could ever meet....

Big thanks goes to Derek, Donna and Eric of HDM for the amazing bike show prizes, lunch, coozies and the list goes on and on of prizes....These 3 do so much for each and everyone of us....i dont know what we would all do without them... They are the best and i could never tell them thank you enough....

Also want to thank Harry and Sheri for all the work they did cooking....They spent hours cooking feeding all of us....Harry is badass at barbecuing....also want to thank all the ladies and gentlemen that fixed food also....everything was delicious....

This is one hell of a group of people that im so proud to be a part of.... Each and everyone does a part to make this whole event happen.... All these folks that come to this gathering are not just friends anymore they are family.....and the family is getting stronger each and every year....So proud to call each and everyone of you my friends and my family

Knothead ,you beat me to this and you did a perfect explanation of why this event is so popular and is growing.. Thank You for doing this.

fFirst of all it’s a honor for me to be able to share a great place with so many fine people to come together and have great time . It Makes me feel so good to see people from all walks of life get together and enjoy life. Plus it gives me a very good reason to spiffy the place up at least once a yr and officially I am done with tornado cleanup from last year in October..

The talent that was available here this week is incredible and the willingness to help each other is off the charts.
Yes we needed to thank special people for special things but the fact is ,is that everyone that attended deserves a huge Thank You. Literally everyone pitched in and helped out so no one was stuck doing anything by themselves. That’s what makes this so unique. I mean it’s turned into more of a brotherhood and family than anything else. We had Non bikers attend with little kids and my adopted kids came up from the university of Arkansas and they all told me that they had never Experienced anything before where everyone was so friendly and genuine . Also my local friends without big dogs have been made to feel so welcome by the group that it’s turned into the highlite of the year. The guys that run block on our group rides enjoy it so much that they are willing to put they’re life on the line to help protect us and they won’t do it for any other group.

In this run down shop they still found time to complately rewire Hmans bike so he could ride the next morning. Captain America bike had rebuilt a clutch and transmission and broke down a rear tire to install a new valve stem. Eric’s bike ,The number 1 of 50 had transmission serviced and clutch readjustment and had several bottles of loctight use on different nuts and bolts since it was built without any lock tight installed Apparently.
Tanna , our texas lady brought her badass SS bike up and the guys did a fork rebuild and went over her entire bike for adjustments..
They even found blown exhaust gaskets on jersey mikes bike and readjusted everything else.
I mean these guys worked there asses off and even had all the spare parts on site in knotthead trailer?

Jonathon was on all our minds all week end and we stayed in touch with him daily so we could keep him in the loop and he could still be a part of where he wanted to be. His wish for us was to carry on exactly like he would have and to eat a lot of Harry BBQ for him. We did exactly as he wanted And he will beat this and be back to normal in no time..

Everybody pitched in to help and no one kept score and that’s what its all about. From fixing bikes to bringing steaks ,porkchops , tomatoes, cookies cakes ,beer , and fine bourbon.

So from MastiffDave ,Joe Dawg and the Farm , Thankyou to everyone for making this one of the best times ever, and I hope to see lots of new faces at the next event .

Can't add to that!

But I really can't thank Dave enough for his hospitality as he gives us all a place to play & have a grand old time! He's treated me like family since the day I met him, and I just hope to do the same for him some day.

Harry slaves away at home then on the farm and his BBQ rivals if not beats some of the top rated BBQ places in Texas. I would say hands down beats most places. I think we all enjoyed filing our stomachs chock full of it! Just to have some more for breakfast again on Sunday

Those steaks from Nebraska on Friday were damn fine and good eats.

This is an event that year after year, just keeps getting better!

Those big dog harley blockers are some top notch folks, including their wives! Its a honor to have them in our group! Without them a ride like Saturday would have been a nightmare. And hell without them even when we aren't riding the party wouldn't be the same!

Jonathan, we missed you brother but you'll be back in your same old fashion in no time.

All in attendance are some of the greatest people and while these bikes brought us together, we all would give the shirt of our backs to help another out.

I'm proud to be a part of this group and I can't thank everyone enough for this weekend!

Oh and don't want to muddy up my other post with non factor crap.

Yep I got home around 2ish today, no problems. Had to pick up the dog from the boarders which was full in my town so had an hour road trip drive and then ran to the grocery store since I didn't eat a damn thing to eat all day, which was kinda on purpose. We ate like kings all weekend.

Was passing by Heckerts place and I missed the opportunity to stay there Wednesday night as planned. So got to hang out with a bigdogbiker mileage king and finally got to meet his lovely wife and heck even went out to dinner with his daughter and 3 of his grandchildren! He showed me around his town and his shop where he plays on his toys. Left this AM and it was a warm 50 degrees and I think hit a balmy 65 by 2pm. Cold was nothing as I stole his heated jacket and gloves since I didn't think we would see those temperatures! I learned from him and Rick the spoils of that tourmaster heated gear but it wasn't doing me a damn bit of good sitting in my closet.

Wind sucked, 20-30 mph crosswind or headwind.

Headwind was worse, crosswind was fun passing 18 wheelers since it was coming from the north. Had a brief second of no wind then wammo! To the left you go!
