Bike won't turn over unless connected to cables.

Just curious, are ya hookin the jumper cables straightto both posts on the battery, or putting the neg clamp on a ground somewhere else? Seems that if it starts with jumpers, it's either a weak battery or a bad connection somewhere, and not the starter ( I think) I have been wrong a time or twelve!
Yes sir. Positive to positive and negative to negative

We really need to know what the battery reads while under load. Hook the multimeter to the battery while it's on the bike and hit the start button. While holding the start button, what does the multimeter read for battery voltage?

About two weeks ago. When I know I'm not going to ride it for a few days I hooked it up to a tender. Then last week nothin. I jumped it and rode it around town. Started every time after that. Then the next day same symptoms.

Those are low voltage readings. Depending on the electrolyte temperature of the battery during the load test, I would want to see 9.8-10.0 VDC minimum especially after a long charge.

I would suggest trying another battery. A great number of members here use this HD battery with excellent results.
