BDM Positive Reliability

3500 on my '07. No major issues, just the condensation in the speedo (on #3), cracked side cover tabs (on #3) and some shifter adjustments early in the year. Runs great. Seems the '07 model year has been pretty clear of recal related issues (thus far, anyway). Love the ride.

7000 trouble free miles on the P8RIOT Puppy, since I picked it up in April.

BB, that's a great looking chopper!

I bought my K9 used. Had almost 4000 miles on it. He had no problems. I have put 600 miles on it in a month. No problems so far. (Except for the wife) The grand I'm dropping with Nelson today is not going to make her happy either. But I gotta tell ya............I've been so HAPPY since I bought it I have to sit on my hands to keep from waving at everybody..

On my second Dog in just a few years owned a '03 Chopper no problems at all. Loved the bike put 5000 miles on it. Bought an '06 K-9 have 8000 miles on it and with the exception of a flat rear tire and the small stuff speedo, oil leak etc - All recently fixed, have had no problems. Love the bike and intend on throwing stupid money at it this winter. :2thumbs:

Very glad to have found this forum with all the experienced wrenches and great advice given by the members. Great bunch of people on this forum!

I've got about 36,000 miles on my '05 Chopper!!!

Love the bike, but I've had my fair share of issues. Went thru 4 exhausts, with the bracket breaking on the original pipes, then breaking again on the new replacements. Got Big Dog to replace with the mean mothers at no extra cost, but these developed a rattle inside due to the baffle coming loose. Replaced with mean mothers again and they too developed the same issue. I was now at my wits end and asked my dealer to see if Big Dog would replace them with ANY pipe of my choosing as I was fed up with their crap pipes. A Big Dog rep visited the dealer, looked at my bike and said "well, we want to keep the customer satisfied, so YES, we'll replace the pipes with any pipe of his choosing, as long they're made for right side drive". I ended up getting a $700 set of Alren Ness pipes AT NO COST TO ME!!!

I've also been thru two starters, a new headlight mount because it broke while riding, a new ignition switch as the original one was causing intermittent electrical failures, wiring harness fixed due to wires getting worn under the tank, a new speedometer as the original one turned to crap about 6 months ago, and a few recalls. All in all though, Big Dog has always come thru and fixed things, which is the point I was trying to drive home in my detail description of the pipes. They could have kept throwing their stock pipes on it, but decided to satisfy me with my request. The speedometer replacement was also done as a good gesture on their part as my bike was way past the warranty, and it was not listed as one that would qualify for one as a recall.

My poor Harley sits in the garage as I just simply enjoy riding the chopper so much more.

2004 Chopper 25000 miles only problems were bad ECM and my belt chirped all the time. I put a chain on. I had a 2003 Swift Bar chopper and it was problem free. But the ride was back breaking. 2003 bmc and that was a pile of crap from day one. Like my Big Dog the best. I have a 2006 stree glide also.

2005 Mastiff with just over 15k on it now. Most of the riding has been condensed into a little over year due to be gone a good portion of the 3 years.

Never left me on the side of the road. All recalls and SB done and had one starter (leaking original) changed at around 2500 miles, no problems since. One speedometer changed due to breaking the reset button and allowing mositure to accumulate at around 8700, no problems since. Couple of exhaust brackets broken on MM, but third was improved and 50% thicker, no problems in over 8k with it.

Did have the valve guid issue at around 10k, but BD changed out the whole upper portion (heads, valves, springs, roller rockers, etc) with exception of TP Rocker Boxes. No problems since and the orignal TP Boxes still have no chrome peeling and no leaking-thus no complaints.

Did have cam changed to .600 S & S when heads were done and could notice the difference and me likey. :D

Multiple 1000 mile plus trips with no problem other than during heavy downpour having the light dance once. Dried right up and been good.

Good for about 500-600 pre day and still can walk at end of day.

Overall BD has been good to me, my dealer has been outstanding and I love the BD and would and will buy again.
