Another headlight thread!

Energy One
:lol:Yeah, i'll be the first kid on my block with a Dual EHC bike (sounds cool).

I'll be the envy of all!!!:roll:

I'll sign a waiver...:2thumbs:
"Envy", My Azz! I'd rather rely on the Energizer Bunny! :D

With dual EHCs, you'll have "TWICE" the failure rate!

switch can be jumped or bypassed using test clips or wire. Switches, connectors and bare wires can all cause this condition. Check everything first, then replace if needed.

I'll let you know what I find. To bypass, disconnect the switch and run a wire direct into the EHC? Hell, you could have flown down and had this shit fixed already by the time I got home. Got a cool little brewery right down the road too! Abita Brewery......makers of Purple Haze and about 15 other varieties.

Unplug and jump wire to wire on control wiring connectors, not to ehc.

Brewery :lol::lol::lol:

Purple Haze was the name of one of my drag boats, back in the day. :whoop::crazy::loony:

So, the power to operate the light is coming from the dimmer switch? :loony:
Thanks!
And yes, depending on the day, Covington is "The Depths".

I don't know if there is +12V at the switch on an '03 or not. Measure for voltages prior to removal ...or.. check continuity between connectors on switch with no power. I'm gonna look for a schematic of your system.

The switch is just a manual either/or switch!

Red- to Low Beam
Blue- from Headlight Relay
White- to High Beam

That relay could also be your issue too.

Do you need a copy of the schematic?

Thanks Dead. I've got the book on my '05 but Rocky has not made the effort to get one for her bike.........guess she's waiting on me. :spank: I'll check voltage and continuity on the dimmer switch wires. I'm outa here for now. On my way home. I'll check for a reply when I get home. No hurry! :job: About a 2 hour commute. Later.

Sure. If you like, you can email it to me..fishnfowlr@yahoo.com. Rocky did say that it blinked off and on once or twice before quitting all together. Where is the relay located? I'm gone. Check back around 6:00pm central.:cheers:

When was the last tune up on the 03?
When we got the bikes back in February, we took them to the BD dealership in Baton Rouge and had both bikes tuned up, dynoed and jetted.

Turns out it was the EHC causing the problems. I put on the EHC that I had purchased off Ebay (running tail lights didn't work) and the headlight functioned properly. I have the WP from Jake scheduled to arrive today, so I'll get that on and should be in good shape. I hate to tell her, but the WP is Rocky's birthday present. True love!:whoop::cheers:
She turns .........39.....tomorrow......again. That's her story and I'm sticking to it. :D

I'm about 3 hours out of Pensacola. Jake said the '03 EHC was "plug and play", so I'm hoping this is just a one beer job. When the EHC on the '05 craps out, and you know it will, you'll be getting a personal invitation for that job. LDO, didn't you replace your EHC?
